Anybody here into ricordias? What kind of conditions do they require and are they hard or special to maintain? My wife stumbled across some online and loves the colors and now wants me to have some. I have always liked them myself, but never considered trying them( don't know why). Can they be...
I stopped by today...not a pretty sight. All dry goods are gone, zero edge tanks are gone, the fishtank to the right had about a 2 foot hole in it, everything was taken out from behind the counter, nothing on the floors, only the long row of stands was still up, all tanks piled up in front, no...
You can buy the booster pump from the current group buy as I am going to. It is setup as a demand pump, meaning when hooked up properly it will turn on and off as needed to maintain the correct pressure automatically. No switching or unplugging needed.

Was reading over at Reef Central the other day and came across a guy that had a good point. Everybody suggests placing liverock directly on the glass bottom with no sand under it in fear of something burrowing under and causing a collapse. He was concerned about stacking pounds and pounds of...
Thanks for the posts guys and especially for the offer Razor. The lightbulb lit up over my head last night as I was going to sleep that I could just bring my Ro unit to my parents house and transport the water back to my house via my 55's. And my old man said he'd only charge me a quarter per...
Does anybody in Central NJ have any 55g drums I could borrow for a week or two to transfer some water?. I have 2 but I need 1 or 2 more to pump (leapfrog)into the other and onto the truck.

Thanks all for your replies. Here is the reply I finally got from AWI.
Actually, you have really good well water. Install the unit after the
softener. Hardness will kill off the RO membrane.

Thanks for the offer Razor, I am sure many in the club would offer if I asked. This club is always there for members. Quite honestly, I don't know how much RO water people have stored at any given time, but 400 gallons could prove to be one costly trip to visit all willing to help with today's...
I have never had to buy water, but I just ran into a problem. I hooked my RO/DI up to my house and found out that the well pump doesn't have enough pressure for it to work efficiently. My 100gpd unit is now producing a whopping .5 gals/hr for a grand total of around 12gpd. >:( At that rate it...
This has really got me curious. My brother has his after the softener. I want to go to his house and do TDS readings on his system. In the meantime I have e-mailed Airwaterice to see what they have to say. I'll let you know.

Phil, I thought it was strange myself and thought that maybe I had switched the samples. I rechecked everything with new marked samples this time with the same results. I have been wondering how this is possible ever since I discovered it. I am hoping others with well water post their findings...
I think I am going to go with a hammerhead gold. I hear of many who like the reeflo pumps. The gold is more money, but I feel it is worth the 5 year warranty and the electric savings being throttled back. There should also be room for future expansion if I ever need it! Man I wish we were doing...
