Nothing mine never leaves the sandbed now when it was in a nano it would roam around more but it is not really soft and fleshy like say the lettuce slug. The two lettuce slugs I have had both ended up in the koralia....so no more of those. I think in the article that Phil provided it says...
I like this book as a basic book.
The Nano-Reef Handbook: The Ultimate Guide to Reef Systems Under 15 Gallons
by Christopher Brightwell
There are a couple very good starter books. I am sure OGII has some and they can show you all the choices. You are pretty close to OGII see sig on Reefers...
Buffalowing gave a great reply, you will need to put different corals at different heights depending on their lighting needs. Try to grab a book or two to get a good idea what you can do to keep everything healthy. There are couple other sites just for nano tanks too. nano-reef.com is one.
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Well Macna was huge huh, great event wish I had caught more lectures, OK any lectures. :-[
I did speak to a bunch of vendors like ESV, Rods Food, Hydor, TECO, and few others that I use their products or services.
I am sure I learned a lot from...
Did you think of the Hydor pumps...the micro pumps are really tiny. The others are very energy efficient though a bit bigger. Check out PA since they gave us the coupon.
Yes I have a 4-5 inch sandbed layed down after placing rock in the tank. Oolite (sp) sized. Really no problems thus far. I do occasionally clean parts of the edges but that is it. I have some conchs and other snails that is it.
According to Rod no .... nothing added so no need. I like the food so far though it is not as concentrated for the fish ... more second had food for the corals.
I think the tank is suspended off the ground right over the radiator?
That is a lot of weight. Don't know if it will work or not. Also consider some sort of heat shield otherwise your going to cook in your sump.
Guess it makes sense as in nature you have skimmers(waves), rock, sand, algae, and others. I am of course in the sand bed group and I pride myself in my fuge so I am biased. Looking forward to all the discussions, because unfortunately I missed most all the demonstrations and lectures, darn 3...
I will let the anemone answer for someone else.
But if you look up Bryopsis.

Google images too.
If you have that, that is what it looks like ... get rid of it ASAP. At the moment it is in one spot, take the entire rock out nuke it...
