Where to put corals when introducing new RBTA

thanks bob - yes - you'll want to place a piece of sponge or something to diffuse the intake. Once the anemone settles in and you are providing it adequate light and supplemental food - then you can remove the sponge(s). Think about it - sponges cost like $5 or something - just to protect a...

Where to put corals when introducing new RBTA

It's easier without corals for sure. However the water quality has to be up to par and hopefully the tank is somewhat mature (this applies to stevereef also). One thing to keep in mind is that they can get easily shredded by a powerhead - like your maxijet 1200.

    Ultimate Catch and Release

Oh wait - I was just joking. It's TOTALLY REAL, and for only $63,250 (your nrjc discount) - I'll be happy to uh...arrange the trip. yes - just send cash or money order to my runner in the dark sunglasses/raincoat standing in front of the Edison Train Station...5pm Eastern time would be great...

    Ultimate Catch and Release

lol - this seems totally faked. First off - I would not be flying a helicopter directly over a point where hoards of seagulls are flying in/out to eat. Secondly - I have never fished for marlin - but I believe you have to sit in a captains chair a loooooooooong time to wear them down...

Where to put corals when introducing new RBTA

On the flip side of the coin - the bubble-tip anemone Entacmaea quadricolor is probably the one anemone that walks around the least. In addition you can just temporarily place sponges around your powerheads (if you have any) until the anemone settles in. I think Phyl's idea of racking the...

    My1st Saltwater tank...30 g. Help!

Ryan - Which thread on this forum is your favorite so far? I'm just trying to figure out what tank impresses you the most - and then it'll be easier to steer you in the right direction. I'm gonna run down your above "system" and then you can tell me if I'm off or on the mark. Aqua Clear 30...

    Otakon!

About two years ago my family and I checked into the Sheraton up in Portland, ME. They neglected to mention they were hosting "PortCon" - some kind of local Comic-Con type event. I recognized inuyasha but i'm sure the other characters were there (bleach, naruto, etc.). You never do see anyone...

    Field Mice

Re: 2 month old Wild...lost? Cat? Encountered a wild (or maybe lost?) cat in my backyard today. I think it's wild since when I approached it with my neighbor (who kept saying "here kitty kitty") - the cat just took off...ran into our fence and was frantically clawing around trying to get out...

    Sea Slugs?

They do not belong in our tanks. Too fragile with a specialized diet that is almost never reef safe (sponges, corals etc). The only exception to this would be the berghia nudibranch i]Aeolidiella stephanieae[/i] and the lettuce type Tridachia crispata. I would consider maintenance of...

    Fake Plastic that Grows Algae

Green hair algae will pretty much find it's way on any surface - but it will be a lot faster on items that do not already have coralline or other algae growing. That stated, I've seen plenty of people with plenty of coralline have trouble with hair algae later. Hair algae is really just a...
