Wading carefully into the waters.... 30G Cube

In the long term, the ATO would be my choice (and was my choice on both my 57g and 45g where I could not have both). HOB fuges are not loud at all, ran those for a few years on my 20g and 30g and they were not in the stand, they hung right on the tank. Maybe the HOB skimmers drowned them out...

Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!! Round Two!

Montis will grow quicker and can drown other corals, but the sting of a hammer is something to behold. I went with hammer.

    Aefw?

Yeah I have seen some people dosing Brightwell's potassion with great success. I have never dosed it in the past, and this is very ancedotal, but my blue SPS have amazing color since I have been dosing it. This could also be do to the huge system upgrade, the calcium reactor, and other traits...

Wading carefully into the waters.... 30G Cube

Sounds like a pretty normal tank cycle so far. Patience and some water changes should help. Hold off on the zoas for a bit longer.

    Aefw?

Dose once a day and we were doing x2 dose of flat worm stop for a little while. No I did not test potassium and still do not.

    Aefw?

I have been using the zeo flatworm stop for a while now along with the coral booster and the potassium. It is very good at making your corals color up and makes them very healthy. Does it rid the tank of AEFW? No. That being said, I still dose it daily as it does make your SPS look amazing.

I have always found beer to be the most important step in the process.

    Matt's 57g rimless build

Love the helfrichi idea I would pick the tiger watchman over the diamond or golden head sleeper. This is my own opinion, but the other two are sand sifters and a 57g might not be enough sand for them. They can get pretty large and they will turn over your sand really quickly. The tiger...

    Upgrade Sale 08742

With the upgrade and finally getting settled in, we realized there is a bunch of stuff we no longer will use and is just cluttering up the basement. I will get some pics up later but just wanted to list it out first. Multiple items will probably get discounted and any of the free stuff is...

    jpelzer's 240 in-wall reef

Perfect spot for the RBTA, you can just move him if he gets to close to your corals.

    Asterinas eating my zoas

Pull the ones you can see, especially the spotted or "salt and pepper" ones as they seem to be the worst. The more you pull the less you will have so i does work.

    Asterinas eating my zoas

By hand pull them all out. I hate those little bastards. The other solution is a harlequin shrimp which will eat all of your asterinas but then you have to feed them. Good luck

MTC Pro Cal Calcium Reactor Setup $525 - Levittown, Pa

This is an amazing reactor, whoever buys it will be really happy.

    Bob's Reef

Did you feed or do anything to the tank before the bubble levels dropped?

    Acros STN'ing and RTN'ing

+1 to all above. Also would check for pests (red bugs and AEFWs). Has your alk been steady there or did it swing there? Do you dose anything for SPS?

Mini maxi in a sps tank?

The maxi minis don't "walk" quite like a BTA or carpet and they really don't expand like the other nems either. They can sting, but not like the others so I would say you are good to go.

    MTC Procal calcium reactor

There should be a little needle wheel kind of underneath the regulator. That is what adjusts the bubble rate.
