Great job on the feeder mount Paul. The new frag tank lights looks like it will work great too.
Progress is a beautiful thing, isn't it? (I'm now thinking to myself... time to start working on the stand again! ;) )
Paul, I think you could have done a better job sketching the tank than that photo! Just kidding, heh.
Wow that was a lot of salt creep. Hope good ole Rube 2.0 works out for you.
I have and like this one: http://premiumaquatics.com/aquatic-supplies/K-SSQRT1.html
When compact, it's 21" long, but the inside tube extends out to make it 35" long. It also has a little plastic skewer on the end that you can use to scrape the rocks or stick a piece of food on to target feed a...
Wow, you did get a lot done! Must have been that slave labor that got it all done.
That thing is huge compared to what you had. What did you do for your footings?

I would agree with everything Kschweer just said.

Having a probe/controller to test for all this stuff would indeed be the holy grail, and I'd consider paying $600 if it was available. The problem with testing...
I've experienced the "brown residue" with several different salts. Not sure if it's normal, but it is common.
I kept changing to avoid it also and I've settled on Aqua Vitro Salinity. Not only does it not leave any residue, but I'm very happy with the parameters and consistency with each batch...
Yea, they look like chitons to me too. I've had some small ones that I first thought were just some sort of snail, but they grew larger after time.
They are pretty good algae grazers.
