Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Sand Sifter does not eat algae.
Fighting conches are neat little guys but i'm not sure i'd get more than 1 for a 45 tank. What other snails or hermits do you have?
If it were me I'd remove all the stuff and then have it staged and have an open house. In this market unless you are really under-pricing the comps in the neighborhood any little thing (like a tank) may just put you to the back of the list for potential home buyers. Even if you do happen to find...
welcome to NJRC - for someone new to the hobby - starting with a 120 - well definite thumbs up here! You should definitely post some pictures...there are quite a few tale of the tanks with 120's...good info on each of them. Good luck!
I can see he has credentials as a vet and doc for birds. In addition I like the fact that he breeds his own and sells them (rather than more captured wild birds).
Not sure though whether that translates into being an expert to hold seminars for saltwater aquaria. Until one personally visits...
wait until the perc gets bigger and then get a much smaller subadult perc. They may pair up right away or the bigger one may just kill/harass the smaller one. If i had to wager - usually a GSM will win any battle against a perc...especially when that gsm grows.
nice - is that the eel in your avatar?
obviously one doesn't know how old the fish is when caught and delivered to the LFS/retail. Was more wondering how long anyone's kept a fish in their glass cage.
Gee - where are my manners....
WELCOME to NJRC!!!
I'm honestly not sure what to advise...would like to hear from others who have kept more than one clown species to chime in.
Just wondering what the longest-lived inhabitants we have in our tank. I'm always excited to see new purchases - but I'm hoping when my tank is set up that I can purchase fish that are known to do well (longevity) in our glass cages.
So - let me know your thoughts! I'm curious to know. I see...
how big is the tank?
i didn't think keeping two species of clownfish was a good idea unless the tank was large. The reason why they didn't fight previously is as you noted - the bta was introduced.
It's like neither had an apartment to live in and you introduced only one hence the aggression...
welcome atlantis! There's always two sides to each story. It is clear you are very passionate about it and I do sincerely hope that future posts on this store will be better.
Hopefully after the damage is fixed things will start to look up. Good luck!
I think jim covered a lot of them...
Besides the acro crab - clown gobies are known to live in colonies of Acro. They do nip the coral polyps but in exchange provide needed nitrogen waste. The issue with these gobies is handling/transport to the tank...(and then proper diet).
welcome to njrc!
welcome to NJRC!
Unfortunately things in this hobby are rarely cheap - but that's one great thing about the club - we participate in group buys and our sponsors help out with discounts too. Definitely think about it...
Thinking Of Becoming A Member? **READ THIS**
hard to find a distributer in the US (looks like just 3 places)...
Interesting site where one guy has a rk2 skimmer (the thing is taller than him and he's 6'2"). Apparently he uses it for a 700 gallon tank.

If you go with our sponsor AWI (that's what I got -the typhoon rodi) - you'll have to sign up to be a member first. Definitely consider it! I think there are a lot of other folks with smaller tanks than you who think the membership is worth it...speak up people!!!
hehe - actually according to my calculations - it's 60 weeks.
$150 for a RO/DI
divided by .50 =
300 gallons worth of water for $150.
At a rate of 5g change a week, 300gallons gets you to about 60 weeks worth.
after that you'll only need to maintain the RO/DI...
Although I did not factor in...
