Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
there is a thread on "point and shoot" cameras - take a look....though I gotta tell ya - with my point and shoot - I have to take like 20 pics to get one I think can be submitted to POTM...
what kind of anemone?
If it has latched to a spot - you'll want to adjust your powerheads...direct current will get it to move again. Make sure you cover the intakes of your PHs.
I don't have exp with a corner but I have read that the cabinet underneath is really hard to maneuver/place equipment in.
Congrats on the new home! My wife and I also are first time homeowners and I hate to say it but it's a big money pit! ;)
At least you're buying at the (hopeful) low end...
I'm not sure on LR but several sponsors do offer discounts to our club members...if you think that perhaps you'd like to consider that - check out this thread:
Thinking Of Becoming A Member? **READ THIS**
yeap...condys are fish eaters / shellfish eaters.
clowns are in the indian, pacific and red seas. At least until someone decides lionfish aren't good enough an invasive species in the atlantic... ::) :P :-\
shrooms yes - xenia - 50% of people say they can't stop them - and 50% will say they whither away and die.
I'm pretty sure for the latter you could keep trying/getting from the successful members....
my personal take on crabs -they are omnivores...it's a risk especially for fish that inhabit the same "zone" (e.g. blennies/gobies).
Feeding the tank heavy definitely probably helps!
I guess if they get too big you may want to push em into the sump.
edit: btw i would also guess it depends...
I am not an expert in clown/anemone relationships...but regarding your other question - I did have my female p. biaculeatus rip off dozens of condy tentacles (from tbs as well) until finally the anemone allowed the fish to swim in it (notice the nubs on the right on the first pic). Typically...
As Clownfish are from the Pacific and Condys are from the Atlantic - I would typically say no. I am saying this to avoid the inevitable person who comes upon this thread later and says -oh a condy can host nemo - let me go and buy the two. I'll post a more detailed response on your tale of the tank.
Xavier613 - anemones of the same species have no issue at all together. You realize they do clone/spawn off and then suddenly you can have more than one anemone in the tank. All patriots are condylactis species from the carribean. Typically they are not known to host pacific clownfish. I say...
thanks for what? ;) Now I know why I like this club so much -phyl does all the hard work and people thank me for it. ;D ;D ;D Ok nothing to read here move along...
I can't speak for billy but I imagine if you passed cash to one of the board members that could work too.
I wish I was as smart as you are at 17! Geez at 17 I think I was putting in a state of the art 5 1/4 floppy disk into the apple 2 and hoping to read the next zork passage.
welcome to njrc!
I've heard a lot of nice things about the tech series- you'll have to post pics when you get a chance.
In terms of cleaning skimmers - I think most folks will use a vinegar based water solution to soak it.
In terms of LR - check out our sponsors - we have quite a few that...
