    MACNA XIX

Looks cool! Thanks for working so hard to promote the club. So who was working the Premium Aquatics booth? Was our rep, Jason Frey, there?

Finally - after nine years of waiting!

One of the hazards of living with clergy! Thanks for the conrats everyone. I'll be checking out all the clown beering info this week. I am going to try and snag some when they hatch. I know feeding is an issue, but I'll see if I can come up some rotifers in the interim. Not sure what the...

    Clown Hosting Anenome?

I have an LTA for my ocellaris. It took over a year for them to find it in a 20 gallon long! ;D They've been together for a total of eight years now and live in my softie reef for the last 2+ years. Every 8-9 months the LTA goes walkabout and finds a new spot. He's about due!

    Suggestions for another fish?

Nice, although as dwarf angels go, he's one of the more aggressive. Definitely centerpiece material for a small tank. Do you have any spare liverock? Dwarf angels fare much better in QT with some rock for grazing.

Finally - after nine years of waiting!

Right where I can watch closely. My nine year old pair of ocellaris clowns have finally laid eggs! Pretty fancy plankton for my softie tank!

    Pygmy Angel vs. Royal Gramma

I've got a gramma and a cherub, but they are in different tanks. The gramma is about a year and a half and pretty good size. He holds his own against a purple tang, but doesn't bully the purple firefish, pj cardinals or orange back wrasse in the tank with him. The cherub lives with a pair of...

    Suggestions for another fish?

Of course you get points, both would look nice! Aquatic Obsessions had a tankful of ORA Neon Gobies a few weekd ago that looked great. Nice deep color and reasonable price. I think you would need a open water active fish to offset the gobies hangin' on the rock work as well. I love my little...

what do u think about the intank fuges..

Ah fuges! They ain't just for nitrates anymore! :o Lots of folks run them just to replenish pods and other tiny life forms that need a place to call their own. ;D

How prepared are you for this?

    It's a fake video! That was a promo for a Tunze wavemaker! j/k ;D

    Suggestions for another fish?

I guess a freshwater tank with neon tetras would be cool, or you could try a saltwater tank with neon gobies! You must have been drinking the same stuff I was when I said the PA GB was being delivered in February, Carlo! ;D

Looks great Tina! I haven't gotten that much work done in my house in the last ten years! :o

    weaning fish onto different food

Flames and other pygmy angels are grazers and fair better in QT if you have some liverock to pick at. Of course you need to let this rock lay fallow before using it again. I soak all my food in garlic and selcon. I would start soaking the mysis in garlic. Then start mixing another frozen food...

My 30 gallon cube tank - help!

Hang in there Tina and don't beat on Tammy too much! A 10 gallon weekly change will get you back on track over time. Make sure you mix and aerate the water a day before and match SG and temp fairly close when you are doing large changes. You might want to play with the maxijet positioning to...

Anyone ever test Aquarium Center's water in Blackwood?

No cold water livestock, I just like to use less energy and the assumed higher oxygen levels. I don't use any chillers. Most of my tanks are in the basement which keeps a cooler ambient temp than the rest of the house. Also my main tanks are VHO lighting, not too much heat. I drip acclimate...

    anything besides a clown?

I'm with Jeff on the wrasses. If you like grammas, but want something different than 2 royal grammas, try a blackcap basselet. I have one and I love it! Just out of curiosity, what kind of clown are we talking about?

    Need lil help getting started

Go slower and skip the scooter blenny. They are cute and cheaper than Mandarins, but basically the same dietary requirements, lots of pods. Your tank is too small and too young to sustain a sufficient amount of live food for them. Even when they eat other things, they generally slowly starve to...

Anyone ever test Aquarium Center's water in Blackwood?

Lot's of variables here. Depends on what the fish and corals were accustomed to before they got here. When you snatch up that beautiful rare fish the day it comes in, it may have been in the wholesalers tank that morning, a bag for 24 hours the night before, a holding facility in Fiji the day...
