    Acro STN help thread

I'll tell you, My tank looked great for a while with the pellets. I've been running them for about 7 months. I posted a thread a few weeks ago about going back to basics, guess its time. Time for some new macro.

    Acro STN help thread

Was planning on doing that soon. Ive been hesitant though not knowing what to expect if I suddenly pull them off. I guess the WC's should off set any problems though. The last few weeks i have upped my WC's so i guess this is a good a time as any to give it a shot.

    Acro STN help thread

As some of you may know I am in the process of a large scale Acro STN event. I have been unable to find a reason at this point. Its kind of been progressing for awhile but I can at least trace it back to before the swap. I am at a complete loss at this point so any and all assistance is...

    Barebottom tank

Most of the bare bottom tanks I've seen are just that bare bottom, nothing used at all. You can cut the base rocks flat so they sit nice and secure everything else. After trying to smash a tempered bottom with a hammer recently and questioning how strong I might be I'm convinced a few falling...

    Diseased or eaten?

I'm really leaning towards other issues in your case as well as mine. In my case I've fragged off the good coral but it has no effect eventually it starts again. Keep a close eye on the rest of your stock.

    Diseased or eaten?

This is the same problem I've had with acros. Can't figure it out here either. Is it only the one piece? Only acros? How are other SPS? In my case my Alk is relatively stable and I have no coral eaters.

    Laminate Floor Question

I have it in our kitchen and extended into our powder room. Nice stuff and holds up good to scratches and scuffs. However water is its bitter enemy. Any spills must be cleaned quickly or it will seep into the gaps between sections. No matter how tight the sections are joined it will get in and...

    Feeding clams to my reef

I know someone who opens it up and tosses it right in the tank. The fish just pick it apart for the most part.

    Jgraz's Finally a Proper Tank 90 Upgrade

Thanks Jim. I tested 2 times last night. I got 1200 & 1260. I figure I'll raise over the next couple of days. I'll tell you the problem is really hard to figure out. As I've stated before its just affecting acros, not all of them though. Some, like my Cali torts look just a well as they always...

    Jgraz's Finally a Proper Tank 90 Upgrade

Well I did a little work in the tank today. Removed one large rock that was killing a good amount of flow. Doesn't look that much different but I like it better now. My recent Firefish additions ended up on the floor. Both of them. They got right through the net tops I have. Also lost one of...

    Jgraz's Finally a Proper Tank 90 Upgrade

I've check those a few times. I think my problems originate from the canisters I'm using.

    Back to basics

Well I did another round of tests today. Cal-440 Alk-6.2 Mag-1200(first test)1250(second test) Mag is pretty low so I went ahead and started bringing that up. Before I pull these dosers offline I'm gonna do a weeks worth of tests to see if I can notice any large swings in ALK. To me at least...

Also do your research on the AGA tank. As I have read and spoken with aqueon they have been switching to tempered glass. I was planning on drilling my 90 but didn't for that reason. There are companies that still do regular glass in larger tank just gotta do the research.

    Coral shopping near Manasquan

Also, there is a guy in manasquan. Greg(whitebird on njrc). Doesn't post often but usually lists stuff on Craigslist. I believe it is mostly beginner, lower end corals. Not sure if he's still going or not though.

    Coral shopping near Manasquan

Shouldn't be too far of a drive but Aquarium care center and tropiquarium are right across the street from each other on rt 35 in ocean.

    Back to basics

I though about it a while back. Now though I think I have too much going on for the Kalk to keep up.
