tank is really beautiful - it shows that someone dedicated and caring is at the helm...kudos to you!!!
Hey - when the tank gets too crowded, you could frag some and then use the proceeds to get a bigger tank!
LOL. Sorry.
The answer is...ready..."It depends".
If you want actinic lights - then the suggestion is to use VHO. I dunno how long before you re-lamp your VHOs - but in essence Andy is saying there is no specific timeline needed for actinics - just re-lamp them when you think the color is not...
well - i had a tunze 6060 in a 55 (on one side angled) - and yes the hammer and frogspawn didn't like the direct stream, (the current would literally cause the flesh to recede) - they seem to enjoy the tank having the higher flow.
But I certainly concur with Bill...if you plan on LPS - there's...
T5s are the "new" technology so it's understandable that some folks will want to light their tank solely with them. In addition you could avoid having two ballasts.
I think it ends up being personal preference. Some folks like the pop from the actinics of VHO and the "shimmer" effect of MH. I...
wow...i was pm'd that link and at first I was scratching my head wondering what that had anything to do with this hobby...then my cable modem went bla and didn't think twice about it until I read this thread...(light bulb over head). Maybe Mr. Dolan spent all his money on the knicks and didn't...
As i recall i had about 21 inches (approx) from bottom to top - so it was just enough to remove the cup. (The skimmer was an aqua c ev 120 skimmer). I went with that model at the time because I had intended to upgrade to a larger tank. I think though after reading all the input on the MRC - that...
The 55 I had - I put an 18" skimmer (tall) on it. I still had some room to maneuver the cup off (twist, lift). Honestly though I didn't do that too often since I attached a bottle to the skimmer outflow so the bottle was the only thing I was taking out with frequency (to dump the skimmate).
To catch a damsel, a nice dinner out and perhaps a nice poem or fresh flowers would help. Although some damsels may also enjoy a beer at a ballgame.
Oh wait - what forum is this?
Well - damsels are territorial - it's their nature and how they "defend" their turf against other damsels so that...
actually one could keep a pair of females...or a male and female (but after they breed you'll have to remove the female).
you could always get her a pleco... ::) they only grow to like 2 feet...
Personally I was partial to those little african clawed aquatic frogs.
That old saying of "many roads lead to rome" seems to be applicable here...
I'd try it and post later your results/thoughts. Seems like a logical solution you are presenting - assuming the legs are sturdy and can hold up the fixture from the front and back.
The last thing you want is that...
