Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Oh I'm keeping them for sure! I'm just wondering if I want to go more of a mixed tank with the LPS. Of course I've already added a number of rics and some sps frags as well.
I've posted this in RC in the LPS forum, but let me ask it here as well.
My 75 gallon LPS dominant tank has just about run out of real estate for corals. Since my favorite LPS have left their softie friends behind in another tank, they are thriving.
Recently I inherited quite a few nice zoo's...
Finally got the Sunday schedule worked out and I'm sorry to say I have to miss this one. :(
Hope to meet all the new members at the next meeting!
I'm sure this means there will be a ton of Acans in the raffle this month and next month will be all GSP's and Kenya trees! ;D
Just patience, John and Phyl have hosted club meetings in the past, and I hope they do it again. It's a great system to see in person! ;D
I see John and I were typing at the same time!LOL
Looks like we have a bunch of new OM's to welcome to the club!
Welcome!
I was just a wannabe at one time. Not enough patience to learn code so I never got a ticket. I just wandered a little north of 10 meters for a few years! ;D
Reefing is now my favorite hobby so don't hold my illegal 11...
We are all going to look back on the first few years of global warming and say, " Wow that didn't suck!"
And then all of NJ will become a reef habitat! :o
Check out the chemistry forum on RC and you can read Randy's suggestions. If you need to raise Alk, baking soda baked in the oven will raise ph temporarily. You'll find directions on that forum. It's part of a DIY 2-part balnaced CA/Alk supplementation system.
You can also try adding an...
Yeah Rich,
I suspected as much by looking at how much is in a tub. I suspect there's some fine print that says 200 gallons at 1.020 sg or something like that.
I haven't seen the Seachem, but I just switched to Tropic Marin after having gone from Instant Ocean to Reef Crystals and back to IO again.
IO's calcium was always low so I went to Reef Crystals but found that it still needed some adjustment for magnesium and it was harder to dissolve. I went...
Cool! I love mine too.
I have the lights on it, with a dawn to dusk cycle and I shut them down one at a time if the heat rises too much.
I control the heaters with the Jr. and hold a pretty steady temp now.
All the pumps are on and I use the feed cycle to shut them down for feeding. I have...
Hey Brian,
You won't need it for just programming. As long as you disconnect it the ph will return to normal. You don't always get a ground loop situation, but I did.
Brian,
Did you get the isolator for the serial cable? You might notice a jump in your ph when the cable is connected. This is a sign of a ground loop problem.
If you download the aquanotes lite you can edit the program on the PC. It's a good idea to save the program on the PC in case you wipe...
What they said above, but I add garlic as well.
I usually feed some to the fish first and the turn the pumps off. It gets the taste out in the tank and I start seeing feeding responses. A few minutes later I put some right on the coral. Eventually they open up.
Also, if you run a dusk cycle...
