Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If the tank is in the corner (I’m assuming at a 45 degree angle to the wall), than simply build a corner shelf and hang the light off that. Here is but one very simple example. (I apologize for the crappy drawing.) The perspective is from looking from below the shelf.
This is all...
John, not sure how your tank is situated and the room conditions, but if possible, I’d pick up a small window unit. They are now relatively inexpensive….a buck and a quarter….for a thermostatically controller 5000 btu AC unit. Even when you get your house AC back online, this little window...
Welcome back Jose!
I’d go with the 700 Glass-Holes for a 40 breeder. Although I have not seen them, I’ve heard the WP25’s (and 40’s), really whip up a storm of flow. I would think four are through the roof, but again, I speak with my specialty…..ignorance. I have the Reefbreeder LED...
Gee wiz, I hope the Tunze 9002 works, I’ve been running mine for a couple months, and I’m happy. I have it in a JBJ28 actually in the DT part of the tank.
Pete, I think my feeble mind remembers that you might have been limited to four feet. If that is not the case, I would highly recommend going to a180. This is the “ideal” tank, with the six foot length and two foot depth, for fantastic rock work, and no problem from the tang police with...
Thanks Darren and Elos’ folks. First time there and I was impressed….very nice. However, I was expecting a bit more water on the floor. Next time I’ll have to bring my own bottle of water to dump on the floor.
I’m old school and still like the Reefkeeper 2. Comes with eight controllable outlets, pH and temperature probes and you typically can pick them up used for 100 or less. And the best part is that you don’t need a degree in programming to set it up….a controller for idiots!
I’m sure everyone will figure this out…..I just cut and pasted the address off the meeting page….”533 Mullburn Ave., Short Hills, NJ 07078”……and it came back, “no such address.” It’s not Mullburn, It’s Millburn, with an "I"!
Non, no, net, nein, Não! The total water depth is six inches. You put the skimmer in six inches of water. The bottom of the skimmer to the top of the water level is six inches……SIX INCHES!
The HQI hood is available. I’ve been told that it not only fits a JBJ 28, but also fits on the 24. If you pick this up at the meeting on Saturday at Elos, $40. What a deal!
Justin, you are more than welcome to stop by and see the 9002 up close and personal. I too have it in the DT. I could have put it in the back center chamber, but I would have had to sacrifice the media baskets and cut the magnet holder off the skimmer for it to fit. So I’ve mounted it on...
