Not too far from Trenton are two LFS’s in PA:
The Hidden Reef, Inc
4501 New Falls Rd
Levittown, PA 19056
And a couple miles away:
The Fish Factory

I’m new at this as well and just ramped up to my full “dose.” A 25 percent loss of pellets in four weeks seems excessive. What were you initial nitrate/phosphate numbers when you started? And where are they now?
Loosing a quarter of the pellets within four weeks makes this a very...
I can only assume the LEDs that claim to emit ultraviolet light have a large component of wavelengths that are NOT ultraviolet, and this particular portion of energies fall into the visible light spectra. Ultraviolet light (as well as infrared on the other end of the spectra) is not visible...
Justin, you’ve been to my house and have seen the JBJ28 I have that only has two small anemones and a big mother-A Mexican Turbo snail. The only feeding I do is every couple months I might give the anemones a small piece of scallop or fish. I’m running a Tunze 9002 skimmer (real dry) and...
This problem sounds similar to the one I had when I ran IceCap. It boiled down to being that multiwired plug on the wiring harness. One or two of the prongs wasn’t making consistent contact…..so sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. I resolved the problem by using this red...
Most (if not all) salts have trace ammonia in them to assist in dissolution. If you have a cycled tank with established denitrifying bacteria, that trace amount of ammonia will be quickly consumed.
My guess is that you don’t have a completed cycled tank or you have a bad test kit.
My local HD has a very large selection of tubing fittings. I'm sure they would have this common 1/4 inch elbow. I recently picked up 3/8 elbows, NPT on one end with the quick connect on the other.
You guys are killing me will all your comments. For those of use who don’t use a grounding probe, Method 1 is how we usually find out about stray voltage. For all those that wish to use a grounding probe, you have protected yourself from a little tingle, but will not know you have a voltage...
Identify the culprit by unplugging one by one. Once found, take it out and carefully place it on your driveway. With a large sledge hammer, beat the living crap out of it. Oh, and now you need to replace that busted up piece of equipment.
There are two methods:
1. Standing in bare feet and preferably a little damp, stick you hand in the tank. If you feel a tingle, you’ve got stray voltage.
2. Using a VOM (Voltage/ohm/meter…..also called a multimeter), set it to read AC VOLTS. Take one of the probes (and it doesn’t...
Mr. Ignorance here! So both of you were seeing RTNing were also running biopellets. Where was the alk number? It’s my ignorant opinion that alk needs to be on the low side when running biopellets. Could you be seeing alk burn because of “relatively” high alk with the pellets?
I’ve...
