Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I agree with others….your alk seems a tad high.
I also would not chase after pH. The pH you’ve mentioned isn’t that bad…..although I don’t believe it. Anyway, it would not cause the bleaching you are seeing. I would see if you could verify pH with a fellow reefer. Or maybe...
Edwin, not sure where you got your Glass-Holes dimension for the 3000 gph overflow, but here's a cut-n-paste right from the site: 18.25 x 3.5 x 7 inches.
Very nice pictures! What camera/lens are you using?
Always liked the open brains….have three of them. By the way Wellsophyllia is no longer….they discovered that they are actually Trachyphyllia geoffroyi. HERE’s an article that touches on it.
I would actually recommend RTV 103 or RTV 108 silicone for "gluing" glass together. The only difference between 103 and 108 is that one is black and the other is clear. RTV silicones have much better gluing properties than caulk type silicone, and will therefore do a better job holding the...
You do have to be a paid member to participate in group buys. Single membership is 12.67 a year while family membership is 18.85. It pretty much pays for itself in group buys and discounts at LFS.
There was an NJRC member who had a pair, and he would buy a chocolate every month or so and put it in his sump. He would then cut off an arm every so often to feed the wild beasts. Anyway, when he would buy a new starfish, as soon as he put it in the sump the Harlequins would know. So they...
You take the hospital tank hypo while the display tank remains fishless (and at normal salinity) for the eight weeks. The ich needs fish to complete its life-cycle. With no fish for eight weeks, they die.
Installing the Bio-Pellet Cover
A piece of black electrical tape was placed on the reactor where the seam of the drain pipe will be. This will assure the seam area is also blocked from light entering the reactor.
The drain pipe was placed over the reactor and zip tied in two...
Back to finishing up the black out cover with door for the bio-pellet reactor:
That curved little piece of plexi was clamped into place on the door portion and drilled and tapped for two 8 – 32 bolts. This was then bolted to the door with flat head nylon bolts so that the flat head portion...
My wife bought me a little gift. Now I would normally model these for you, but I don’t want to be the cause of divorces when your wives see my Adonis like body modeling my new underwear. Dance  :o
I’d DIY the fix, no question.
Carefully measure the dimensions of the broken glass. Take that to your glass shop. Cut out the broken piece with a sharp razor. Make sure you get off all the old silicone. Pick up the appropriate RTV silicone and glue it back up. Use tape to hold...
Mike said it above…..hospital tank for your fish with eitherhyposalinity or copper while you DT sits fallow. To the best of my knowledge these are the only two ways to permanentlyrid your tank of ich.
Matt, I’m actually having yours sent out to be gold plated, engraved, and then encrusted with diamonds. However, if it’s not back in time, you might just get a 9 9/16 inch length of drain pipe or the black beauty I have in the sump right now….or maybe both. Don’t hold your breath...
