    Jose7878 new 150 gal

I too am sorry to see this. Jose is one of the good ones! It was a definite pleasure working with you, Kevin and Edwin, building Edwin’s stand. Your daughter was a little princess. If you decide to get back in, let me know, and I throw you some stuff. Stay well friend!

    what are these???

The starfish is Asterina.....generally speaking they are reef safe. There is a variety that can be troublesome. I have found that the white to light tan are fine. The more color, the greater the likelihood that they are a problem. I have a tank filled with them.

    Brand New RO/DI Unit

This is a spanking brand new, never seen water, Aqua FX “The Barracuda” RO/DI unit that is rated at 50gpd. I took it out of the box to simply take the picture. I won this at the swap from Champion Lighting and actually don’t need it. I still can’t figure why I put a ticket in the bucket...

    HELP! - Computer Geeks

Thanks for the multiple responses. I have no problem opening up the computer: The hard drive cable is attached to the hard drive with screws….everything looks tight. Now someone told me to remove the hard drive and put it in the freezer for a couple hours. Sometimes this works and you...

Do I Need to do anything with my water

I apologize for the question….you can kick me the next time you see me…..but you mention you are new to Red Sea test kit. You did subtract the number on the syringe from 1.0? Again, those numbers don’t make sense for IO salt at 1.026.

Do I Need to do anything with my water

I question this as well. Those numbers don't jive for IO at 1.026 salinity.

    HELP! - Computer Geeks

I’m having a he!! Of a week….my neighbor dies, my pool cleaner dies, and now my computer dies. It’s the week of death. (And I won't mention what the stock market did today!) I was looking at my computer while making a recipe and I turn around to find the next ingredient, and it’s crapped...

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

While I’m at it, I’ll summarize the Magnesium part as well. What you’ll need for this is Mag Flakes (an ice melt product that I think is in a 40 pound bag) and Epsom Salts (that you’ll find at your local Drug Store). This is a ton of Mag Flakes, so if a bunch of you get together you can...

    Baking Alkalinity Solution

The recipe for Alkalinity, Calcium and Magnesium DIY solutions are referenced in the bottom of the OP…..from Randy Holmes Farley. To quickly summarized the Calc part, simply mix 2 ½ cups of Dow Flakes (an ice melt product that is really hard to find) with one gallon of RO/DI water. An...

    Suction Cups?

Well I've found that when my tape measure is out of calibration, a little scotch with a splash of RO/DI water over ice usually brings the calibration right back in place. :topsy_turvy: :very_drunk:

    PO4 and bio pellets

To paraphrase Warner, think of the biopellets as having three arms. One arm takes a carbon, one takes a phosphate and one takes a nitrogen (nitrate). It takes all three for the “reaction” to work. If one is missing, it won’t work. So if there is no nitrates, no more phosphate will be...

    PO4 and bio pellets

Jon Warner had a nice short and sweet talk about biopellets at the swap. I specifically asked this question, and yes you can run GFO along with biopellets….especially in the case of excess phosphate.
