If you guys remember I had an emergency when I was having a snail orgy. The tank is fine now but I found some of the pictures I took that day so you can get an idea of why we were panicking a bit:
Caught them in the act (I hope no one is offended by these images they are very graphic)

This was what the tank looked like upon setup, we used cycled live rock and Dr. Tims for an instant cycle.
Filled with water and rock

Ok, so we started this thread in July of last year so it was completely lost. Seeing as how I liked this build thread I figured I would just start it over and you guys will get a super fast roughly one year build. I looked into malulu's method but it only returned about 2 pages of the 17 page...
I am sure a lot of you noticed there has been an increase in spam since we restarted. All of our bans that were in place where also lost in the site crash. We are diligently banning spammers and removing them as they come up. Thank you to those who have been notifing the mods and we are working...
Sorry to hear about the tank. SPS can be a tough tough coral and can rtn/stn at a drop of a hat. Reasons I have gotten rtn: Temp swing to the high side, alk swing to the high side and pests. What are you doing dosing wise to keep alk and calc up? What is your mag reading? Your PH is a little...
I had a green GBTA bleach out completly on me due to stress from a heat spike. I just kept the tank in good shape and it naturally colored back up over time. I don't know if there is anything you can do to accelerate the color.
It must be something in the air, our bluspot jumped yesterday and we have no idea how he got through our cover. We have the tank covered in mesh and he pulled a houdini and we found him 4 feet away from the tank. Not the best find.
What is the timeframe until setting up the new tank? If it is not going to be for a while, let it dry and then recycle it. If you don't have a ton of time, but it in a dark bin and scrub the thing in buckets to get the hair algae off.
If your MH are 10k or 12k you can run some actinic bulbs or KZ figi pinks to really bring out some color. I would not use them for moonlights as Sonny said but you can get LEDs for moonlights.
