Dave, I do have vermetid snails…..look at the base of the worm in the picture….I believe these are vermetids growing on the worm……considerably smaller. I don’t think these big guys are vermetids…..I don’t think vermetids get that big.
I’ll repost the picture so you don’t have to go back a...
Creatures in My Sock
I am amazed of the “hard” things that have been growing on the 1 ½ inch PVC pipe that enters my filter sock. I have many small black things, many as small as the head of a pin, that are not movable, but hard as a rock. But I also have three very large tube worms that...
One is perfect.
I don’t like spotlighting and want the different colored lights to "intermix," so I like the larger angled lenses. That being said, if you want to mound it up high, you may need the narrower lenses.
Finally got back to cutting wood.
Added two shelves to the carcass…..1/2 inch plywood with the middle shelf supported by pocket screwed braces…..3 inches wide on the side pieces.
For those that followed along with my canopy build, you’ve seen this before….cutting kerfs in the front...

New probe most likely. They must remain wet. It will be obvious if after calibrating it drifts all over the place. Mike, I've got calibration fluid if you need it
There definitely was no release of silicates! Although silicone caulk contains the element silicon, for it to be released would be a total destruction of the chemical structure of the caulk…..not going to happen unless you’re burning it.
However, part of the curing process is the release...
I apologize for repeated posts, but I keep on seeing more. I’m thinking while typing…duel injectors with a pump putting out ca 2000 gph…with the plumbing being a “manifold” with multiple tee-offs…and with too many elbows. I’m wondering how much flow is actually getting to the injectors...
Your picture link above doesn’t work, so I went to RC and looked at the pictures there. Now I’m no expert, but I don’t like your unions on the bottom of the injectors. Again, don’t know from Adam, but I just don’t like adding inches to the injectors. But going back to my first post, I’d...
I ran both an MRC 2 and MRC 3 for four or so years.....the best skimmer I've ever run! It sounds like your air valve is crusted up with stuff. Common problem. Unscrew the valve and see if you can clear the buildup and if needed, soak in vinegar. I still have both my MRC's....you're...
I have two that I just recently received (from my adult son) this past December. As far as I know these are full-grown at maybe a touch over 2 inch diameter. I can tell you that mine have not walked from their original locations they had when I got the rock. This surprised me with one that...
HAIR ALGAE
Kevin, the Mexican Turbo has mowed down all the hair algae and, with the tank bare bottom, I’ve discovered what snail poo looks like…..little light brown pellets.
NEW LIGHT
That new light is phenomenal. What an improvement in quality over earlier Chinese fixtures….aluminum...
Kevin, I totally agree with what you’ve said….high pressure for RO….low pressure for DI. I was just trying to save buying yet another pump by using the high pressure pump to send it through everything.
I also agree...a lot of good stuff here.
Also glad to see "The Nut" is going with a bubbler.
One more thing……CO2 actually consumes the anionic resin (plucking out the carbonic acid ions.) So another reason to split the two resins….the cationic resin will not have to be regenerated that frequently.
With all this said about regenerating, I still think your best bet is to bubble your...
