When our tanks crashed we pulled apart both skimmers and cleaned the bodies of them. Granted they are HOB and probably accumulate a little more junk, but there was a bunch of stuff that came out. We don't do it regularly, but probably 2-3 times a year would help. We clean the pump at least...

The only reason I brought that up is a purple pseudo can be a terror of a fish.  I have heard of them bullying and killing fish in much bigger tanks and would be worried in a 10g that would be your only fish.  I had an orchid dottyback in a 12g and he was ok.  Dottybacks as a species are...

I almost forgot to post this picture of our new top courtesy of Olivier which is absolutely awesome. The amount of light that was being blocked by our DIY cover was substantial. This new cover is amazing.

I am always amazed when people go through a tank disaster and come out with everything looking great. Good job.
