This is very true, ours barely hit the bottom of the tank and they were all over it. It also depends on the size of the starfish vs the size of the shrimp. Once ours molted several times they were pretty big and were able to control the CC star pretty quickly. They also loved sand sifting stars...
They all go after different food sources so you should be ok. The only one I would be worried about is the pistol, they don't have that big claw for nothing. I kept halequins and cleaners together with no problem. I got rid of the harlequins because I wanted a reef tank and their food is not...
I will try and answer that question with what I am running (granted I am running it on about 50g total):
BW Coral Amino $16.90 Less than a ml a day, my selcon bottle which is about the same size lasts about 6 months at a full ml a day.
BW Reef Biofuel $8.90 around 50 drops per day. No idea how...
The solution to pollution is dilution, so yes that could be causing your rise in PO4. It was a pretty drastic cut from 10g a week to 5 g every other. Maybe find the happy medium of 5g every week.
Paul she started me off slow, just a hob filter and compact flourescent lights. Then it was a few clown fish just to get you hooked. She did all that for free, then I was hooked. Now we have multiple tanks and she introduced me to Tropiquarium where I have to buy water weekly just to keep the...
So I finally got all my supplies today so I started my dosing regimen. It is as follows:
Reef Biofuel 1 drop per gallon
Microbacter7 2 drop per gallon
Brightwell Coral amino 7 drops into the 20g 10 into the 30g
KZ Coral Vitalizer 1 drop into each tank
Pohls Extra 1 ml into each tank
The goal...
Tropic Marin Pro, the bucket is running low so I might switch. I have had no problem with the salt but might try their reef actif or brightwell. Love all of brightwells products, so don't see how their salt could dissapoint.
Nice, we love the Aqua C skimmer and had the koralias as well. We upgraded to the mp10 in our 20g and the mp20 in our 30g and really like the look without the extra powerheads. The only other thing we like on our tanks is the HOB refugiums. Great place to stick some extra live rock and chaeto...
We had a coral beauty and promptly got rid of it, it was an aggressive little bugger. We have also had a pygmy angel which was a great little angel that met its demise on a powerhead. The flameback in the 20g has been good, but they are known to be a bit more aggressive and he does rule the 20g...
In our 20g, probably 30 pounds give or take. We never weighed it. The old rule of thumb was a pound per gallon but at live rock got better and more porous the surface area increased allowing for less poundage.
You should be ok, but having a shady area just in case is a good idea. With that depth of tank you should be ok with them on your sandbed. Before I bought any nice acans or chalices for our 20g I went out and bought cheap frags of those to see if they would work. They were both fine, so we...
Consider yourself lucky that at least it is staying still. Mine wondered on the back glass right up to our pumps for the skimmer and refugium. Thank god we have put covers over them so we avoided that disaster. Last night he moved down the glass and towards the front and parked right over the...
