Krylon fusion. Is the go to. I used it on the 90 and had no problems. I used rust oleum on my nano and had no probs with that either. I used 1 full can on the 90 but it could have used at least 1 more coat. The krylon can be had at Walmart you won't find fusion anywhere else. At least I couldn't.
I think they are better too. I was speaking of looks only. The problem with the eshopps is they use I coated magnets inside acrylic. When/if acrylic cracks, rust.
I think those are the same ones I used. I might have used a different size though. Give a search of my topics I'm pretty sure I posted a thread of how I coated them. I'm on my phone and can't go back that far in TapATalk.
So what I gather is that from the Durso coming down under tank I would put a "T" then the pipe going straight down to skimmer section with a ball valve on it? The other pipe just feeds the fuge? Do I need to put a valve there also?
Feeding the reactor with overflow sounds interesting. Im...
I have a captain salty rack and I have no probs with it. Not as nice as the eshopps ones but I also heard the eshopps don't hold we'll.
I bought magnets from the same place but bought epoxy coated ones then gave them a few dips in plastic dip. Worked very well. The ones you linked will work...
Paul, thanks for the link. This is good because in addition to using the same size sump we are both using the same skimmer. Perfect. I'll check the thread out.
My biggest concern is simply splitting the overflow. When the water flows down from under the tank durso, and I split the pipe with a...
Since I'll be add a new sump soon I'm considering cleaning up my plumbing and making things more efficient. The problem is I'm dump when it comes to this. I am thinking of setting up the sump with the return in the middle, therefore I would need to divert overflow to the skimmer and refugium. I...
Kyle I was using 2 mp10's in my 90. It's sufficient but I feel I could use some more. I added a koralia 750 but as soon as I can I plan on another mp 10. I think one would be light for a 40. But like mike said the 40 is expensive and you would have to go full power to span the space. Two mp 10's...
I am plumbing dumb. Asking me to tee off the return is the same as asking me to plumb the whole house. LOL.
I know slower is better but to be honest I'm only moving about 500 gph through right now. Is that too fast.
So I decided to cut out the top off resovior. Because of this ill add space to the fuge area. This will make my refugium quite large. Approximately 10"x18"x19", about 15 gal total. I plan on a sandbed in the way of 3.5"-4".
Will the water traveling over the baffle entering provide good flow...
Can anyone please share the name/number of a good glass shop in central/south Jersey area. I called a few places by me today and they seemed reluctant to cut baffles. Thanks in advance.
7 would be plenty, im only getting about 4 useable in my current set-up. I might actually cut it down a bit to add a bit more room for power down room. Also im cocerned about using clear glass in that section. I think there might end up being algae issues in the resovior, not good. I considered...
In light of the crack I found in my sump last night http://www.njreefers.org/showthread.php?78832-Sump-crack&p=709515#post709515 . I am exploring options available to me. I need to do a few measurments but I believe I can fit a 40 breeder though the opening and would like some opinions about the...
Well as for the sump, Im looking at alternatives(another thread, check it out). I dont like the idea of trying to take this apart then back together. ATM there is no water leaking. I can feel the crack from outside not on the inside, not sure what that means though. I think the baffle there is...
Here are a bunch of pics of the whole sump.
This is before I set up refugium. Full sump shot. The crack is in the return section starting in the bottom corner, traveling up and over to the refugium section. It ends about 4" up in the fuge section. These are only sump shots you won't see the...
I had the made by a guy on Manhattan reefs. Its frameless. Lets say I can get the panel off without any damage to other panels. I remove as much silicone as possible. Will the new silicon adhere to the silicone in the bottom corners of the tank.
Unfortunately if I want to keep my top off...
