    Splitting overflow and return manifold

John, I have a 40 breeder with the return in the middle. It’s just easiest if I send you to the “Tale” page HERE…first page, where it shows the building of the sump. I’ve made one change, going from an external skimmer to an internal skimmer. So the sump looks like this now:

    Mad's 120 build

That's the difference between regular Kilz and Kilz Complete. Kilz Complete is "oil based," and truly is stain covering. It sticks like grim death and won't fail as easily as the latex version.

    Mad's 120 build

Mark, stand looks good! As far as painting, you're not painting to make it look good, you're painting to protect the wood. I would suggest, at a minimum, painting with a primer. My new favorite primer is Kilz Complete. However, make sure you paint outside or very well ventilated room.

    MACNA Today

I think, in reading other site’s posts about this year’s MACNA, that people think there is a professional group of convention experts that pull this all together. The truth is that it is a local club that has to apply and win the right to put on this show, with virtually no assistance from...

Hijack in progress..............................:p.................. Chris, I’m a stones-throw from Wick…know where Mom and Dad live, and have a few friends that live on the street. I don’t know your age, but have to believe you also knew that one Wick resident (I don’t wish to mention his...

    New Fish Store - Parlin

This is very close to my house. It is a house in a residential development with no signage or evidence of it being a business.

    Best testkit?

As you start to add, it is blue….continue adding, while mixing/swirling…a drop at a time. It starts to change red. You don’t know if it is all red….maybe you see some blue. Take note of the volume….lets say 0.64 mls. You add another drop…did it change more red. If yes, than take note of...

    Was Thinking Of A Clam

Don’t know what you are doing to supplement calcium, but your calcium demand is going to go through the roof. If your using two part, I believe BRS has a nice little chart that shows the amount of two part for light SPS, heavy SPS and SPS with a clam…..you’ll be surprised! Here’s what came...

    Best testkit?

John, you what to continue adding until the “starting” color is completely gone and any additional drops causes no more color change. With Alk, you what to see no more blue…just all red. And since you never want to put any reagent back into the mother bottle, just take note of when you think...

    Best testkit?

+1 on Red Sea Pro kit. The chemistry is all the same with the kits…..a simple color changing titration…..however, Red Sea must have used Industrial Designers to add that little ergonomic design into the mixing/adding unit. This is what sold me on their kit. It makes using the kit that much...

Small footprint skimmer for 50g w/ 18g sump

WHAT! Premium Aquatics has this Alpha 170 for $780! That thing better do more than skim my tank at that price! If you have a ton of discretionary funds, go for it. Otherwise, with an SWC or Bubble Magus, around 200+ dollars, either would work just fine.
