Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Socal in the above post is the place to get replacement Atmans. If you’re in immediate need, I have a brand new one, in the box, that you can have. Just have the new one you are ordering shipped to my house. Let me know.
I’m a mesh sock user. So easy to clean. Run under the sink while rubbing fabric to fabric, and it’s clean. The only reason I run a sock is to keep hard things out of my skimmer pump. I change it out about every seven to ten days. Note I use seven inch diameter socks at either 150 or 200...
Arnie, don’t know what size tank you want to put the fixture over, but you might want to look at Apollo. Brightlux LEDs and assembled in the US of A….and they are in the three bills area.
In the video he used 8 mls to 1 liter of tank water. Converting this to gallons:
8mls / 1 liter X 1 liter / 0.26417205236 gallons = 30.3 mls / gallon
So for half a gallon you would need 15 mls of bug juice.

As the earlier posts stated, go to Home Depot and pick up a bottle of Bayer Advanced Complete Insect Killer and use it. Here's a video that explains the use of the stuff. It works!
I have two JBJ 28 hoods that you might be able to rig over your biocube until your replacement comes in. One is a compact flourscent, the other if a HQI. I’ve sent contact info in a PM….I’m right next door in Sayreville.
You say the tail is whitish......Now is this one of Sunny's contests......Even though I don't see it in the picture, I'll say a black spot tang.
OK Sunny, what do I win?
Kudos for MD using a simple creative little marketing tool to put a smile on their customer’s face. I chuckled as I read their response. More companies need to do this kind of inexpensive creative stuff. It’s these little things that separate all the multitudes of retailers from the rest...
I would also recommend letting them sit in COLD saltwater for a few hours. However, I would use kosher salt. Regular table salt (iodized salt) will kill the clams.
I still think it’s a crapshoot. I use to have two yellows (for three years) and all of a sudden they started going at it….to the point that I got rid of one yellow. I just have to keep an eye on them, especially as the Scopas grows larger than the yellow.
Sunny, I'm also going to assume you "white balance" the camera as well?? I know I need to do that with 20K units I have, or the color is waaaaaayyy off.
Tang police Tang police Tang police Someone needs to call the Tang Police. Tang police Tang police Tang police
My son is visiting from Rhode Island, and brought down a Scopas tang he no longer wants and dropped it in my tank. I already have a yellow, and I’m a bit concerned about...
Actually 8.6 is hard to believe as well. I would see if a member lives close by who could verify…or take a water sample to your LFS.
If it is that high, HERE is a nice read from Dr. Farley.
