Just a thought here, but is new rock an option. Since the rock you have is basically dead rock now anyway. Reef Rock can be had pretty cheap from either the company itself and I think Ultracorals still sells it. Its pretty nice stuff.

They are pretty hard to see. Get yourself a magnifying glass. Look at each acro for a bit you will see them if you have them. They may or may not be actually moving. If you have them you will notice.
