If your zoas are not opening, do a furan II dip. I recently bought some purple people eaters that were great for a week then stopped opening. I did three half hour treatments and they were back open. I have to do another treatment soon, but the stuff works and it is cheap.
Trops live rock goes from 7 to 11 bucks a pound depending on what type. Again, you can get it cheaper elsewhere, but they do have really good live rock.
If you don't mind paying for it Trop has great live rock. I have never had a problem with their live rock and have never had any bad hitch hiker. The first time I bought live rock form another source, it has mojamo and apstia on it. I was lucky as they were rubble pieces which I promptly threw...
I have noticed on my acans they will inflate deflate a lot. You know you have a problem when you see recision and the "skeleton" starts to show. Also, how are the colors?
Welcome to the site and the addiction. We buy all our RO and saltwater from trop for the time being. The RO is 50 cents a gallon and the saltwater is 1$ a gallon. They also sell the 5 gallon jugs which is nice. We have also bought our liverock and live sand from Trop as well. I am sure you can...
I had never felt like more of a wuss when I first got a pair of clowns and was afraid to put my hand in the tank. They little buggers kept biting me and even though it doesn't really hurt it was quite a surprise. Now I am used to it and let them nip away as I scrub the algae. I guess that is the...
The frogspawn actually turned into an anemone, it was a hermit crab that turned into the birdnest. ;)
So far I am very happy with them, I will try and get a shot of the difference in the anemone with the new bulbs, really brought out some great colors in him as well.
The little green bubbles are probably bubble algae, cannot be certain without a pic but it sounds like that. Those you want to remove very carefully because if they burst the spores can go all over your tank.
Rods food if you can find it would be my selection. Mysis would be a solid backup and pretty much every store carries it. Rods has a little bit of everything in it so I just stick to that, and do mysis every now and again. Brine shrimp is up to you if you want to continue it or not, it is always...
I believe what onefish2fish is getting at is that flake and brine do not offer a diversity of food. Brine shrimp are like popcorn, fish love them but they really don't offer too much nutritional value. I have used flake in the past but switched over to mysis and Rods food as they offer a lot...
I have had both, would also recommend the flame. Coral beauty is more aggressive and I like the coloring of the flame. We have also had a pygmy angel and currently have a flameback. The flamback is doing very well but I have been told they can get a nasty attitude problem when the grow up.
Here...
You probably want to add the fish before the corals. Fish are going to add bioload to your tank and you have to make sure the system can keep up with the waste produced by those fish. Corals really won't change your bioload at all. Add slowly and try to stay away from the impulse buy (I should...
Add another perc clown. This way you will have a pair which I think is always nicer. Most angels usually have a 30 g minimum, however we have kept juvenile angels in a 20g. They eat what our other fish eat but we also supplement with nori sheets. A goby would also probably be fine.
