Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Dave, put them in your sump. I think you have a sump similar to the one I have....a 40 breeder. My sump actually has a clown in it as well. The door to my stand is actually cut out to expose this section of the sump:
I attempted to add a maroon to my 90 gallon tank that had a mated and established pair of clowns, thinking that the maroon would be the “outsider” coming into an established tank. The fish hit the water and immediately and brutally started attacking the two clowns. I spent the next five hours...
One more thing....if it is flex PVC, you could cut the pipe at that location and install a coupling using pvc cleaner/cement. That would "fix" the torn area.
Are you talking PVC flex? Or some other kind of flexible pipe/hose?
If it is PVC flex, I'd be shocked if it had a tear....that stuff is pretty tough!
If it's just some other kind of flexible hose, HD carries all different sizes.
Anthony, thanks for educating the idiot! I would venture that the 5.1 is sufficient for my tin ear application. I think I'll also check out Sam's, since we are members.
I don’t know….lets say $500 just to throw a dart at a price, but I could be talked into up to around $1000….but again, I don’t know! How much do I need?
One more bit of information; I have a tin ear. If you don’t believe me, ask me to sing something.
I’ll do what will work…so I could go...
Hey, you might not be too far off with this idea.
When we got the RBTA, the clowns did not go to the anemone. We had to show the clowns pictures of fish in an anemone. So we actually taped one of those electronic picture showing devices to the side of the tank with rotating pictures of...
Calm down young man. Take a deep breath and let it out slowwwwwwwwwly.
You have a relatively new tank. If you didn’t get hair algae and cyano, I’d be shocked. It’s expected in new tanks….less than a year old. Forget all the fancy-pants knee-jerk crap you want to do or buy. Hermits and...
Love that open brain….maybe a Trachyphyllia radiate?
I like the paint job on the truck….it fits the age of the truck. Don’t know if it’s oxidized paint or just a red-lead primer, but I think it looks good. I also wished my garage looked like that. Other than the truck, the only things I...
All I’m saying, regardless of the instrument you are using, is that you are better off using a calibration standard close to what values you are actually attempting to measure.
Your refractometer MIGHT be just fine calibrating with distilled (RO/DI) water. However, if there has been a “shift”...
I believe what Jim posted above is similar to what I use HERE…..a calibration fluid that calibrates your refractometer to 35ppt. You are better off calibrating to the number you are interested in then “zeroing” the refractometer with DI water. It’s more accurate that way.
I also find it odd...
The pictures looks like the beginning of coralline algae growing on your glass. How old is the tank?
I would expect precipitating calc to end up cementing your sand together or, if dosed too high, to fall out of solution like snow. But to see it deposited on the glass, I'd be surprised...
+1 what Hawkeye said….although I don’t know what TOTM means….the only thing that comes to mind is Time of the Month.
That being said, I believe the Koralia 425s you have are “Evolution” powerheads. So they can be hooked up to a timer or controller to have them turn on and off...
The Koralia Evolution powerheads may be controlled by a timer / wavemaker function. I have a Reefkeeper and controlled my Koralias using the wavemaker function.
The no-name brand that you have, I’d be surprised if that can be turned on and off repeatedly. You need to check...
