Thanks guys for straightening me out on this. I don’t think my little Acer, purchased August 2009, has the necessary ports to run HDMI (unless that plugs into a USB???). Here’s what I have in the way of ports:
That “unknown port” is a small little rectangle where no contacts are...
David, thanks!
The TV is Samsung LED Smart TV, Model UN55D6050TFXZA
The computer is an Acer Aspire One Netbook, Model KA60
To answer your questions, I want to be able to see what is on the computer screen on the TV screen….whether it’s pictures, videos, or whatever.
I think my kids...
Do you need a booster or is it temperature. I went to make water today and noticed way too much waste water for the first bottle (five gallons) and felt the temperature of the water......cold! So I started mixing hot with cold to get tepid water. Your membrane works best with warm water (I...
Don't know what this guy was up to but I actually saw this same kind of thing in Key Biscayne, Florida. A small octopus got caught in a tidal pool with the outgoing tide. We tried to pick it up, but it was like picking up a wad of greased Jell-O with tentacles, and we were afraid of getting...
I think I already have this stuff (and I say this with tremendous ignorance).
My TV (brand new) has a wireless LAN stick plugged into the back of the TV:
And my computer has a wireless modem installed, which currently communicates with the wireless modem from Verizon.
I’m not computer savvy but I know for many of you, this is second nature. Can I communicate (see what’s on my computer screen on the TV screen) with my new Samsung “Smart” TV wirelessly….maybe using LAN??? I tried finding this in the manuals, but it reads like Greek to me. I’ve already...
Here’s a crazy idea I was thinking about. Is this sound or am I nuts?
I have a terrible humidity problem in my house. With the colder months, moisture condenses on the windows, with some windows actually showing signs of rot. For a couple years I ran a dehumidifier that needed daily...
Just love Attenborough’s voice!
Phenomenal time-lapse photography of the “brinicle” forming with all those stars and urchins running about.
Thanks for sharing.
As a fellow woodworker, I’m impressed!
Tongue and groove paneled doors! Very nice.
I’m still trying to get the Living Room and Dining Room painted before Thanksgiving. It ain’t happening….but don’t tell my wife.
They are pretty cool. I’m surprised that they would move in to a clear house. I guess it’s the confinement that gives them a feeling of security, and not the fact that if they open their eyes, they see nothing….they now can see everything, as if they are not in a shell.
Now, does Mag-Float...
I will only use ATI bulbs….I think they’re a very good bulb and hold up to my IceCap ballasts overdriving the bulbs. I also run six bulbs…3 Aquablue Specials and 3 Blue Plus. I like the look and the growth I get from this combo.
Welcome NyteGTI, you've found the right place to ask questions. There are plenty on here who have the experience to help you out. When you're ready for beginner corals, I can fill that 12G up real fast.
In regard to the floor support, talk to Sunny (Monroereef). He recently put a big tank up against a supporting wall with lam-beams running perpendicular to the supporting wall. He still installed an additional supporting wall in the basement to support the front side of the tank. A...
Well Tony, I’m glad you finally found out about your back. But I’m still scratching my head on something else you said. You stated:
I’m not sure the testing you had done verifies that you are not crazy. I think we need further testing!
Seriously, feel better and get well soon.
If you do the Reef Central design and use 2 x 6 top pieces (red and yellow boards) with a center brace (not shown in the picture), that should be more than enough to easily hold a 300 gallon tank. I would also put in a couple more cross braces (blue boards) in the top frame.
I know this was posted three weeks ago, but for bulkheads, gaskets ALWAYS go on the flange side. It also doesn't matter which way they are installed, as far as them holding a good water-tight seal , but again, the gasket is always with the flange, not on the nut side.
The "plumber's grease" I...
BRS Group Buy policy has always been the "perferred" pricing on all merchandise. So you are correct in that regard. Once you have preferred pricing, the only advantage of running a group buy is if you have it all shipped to one location....you save on shipping....or for those who don't have...
