20 nitrate is fine. if possible you can do auto water changes. Like 2 gallon a day. Since you are changing a small amount of water you don’t even need to heat or chill the water. You can make a large 20g brute and mix the salt

To be honest in my opinion, the old eb8 and eb4 are solid. The only ones that I have a problem with are the new eb832. I have two eb832 fail on me. My old eb8 and eb4 work with no problem.

if it’s the new gyre it’s only 3 pieces nothing to worry about. I would put it in a bucket of vinegar 1st. If there is a snail inside the vinegar will kill it. If it’s stuck because of sand or dirt the vinegar will remove it. I would turn the pump on in the bucket in a few hours of it sitting.

Put it in a bucket with vinegar. Let it soak for a few hours. Then turn it on.

You should always test ph in the afternoon. it goes down at night. I would tell you to dose some kalk it will help get your ph up.
