If I could do it over I wouldn’t install a display tank.
I would just do large frag tanks. I would do 3x 8ft
Frag tanks and that’s it. Cleaning frag tanks are so easy.
Getting corals moved to a different tank is also easy.
making any changes on a 220 display is very hard.
Water is a lot of stress. Also drilling an empty tank is always easier.
from what I have learned when you buy a tank that’s drilled from a company.
That glass is re-enforced. The holes are made by a machine and they are perfect.
After the hole is made they reinforce that glass. So that tank...
The best way to start a new tank is to buy something already drilled.
Having a “reef ready” tank is the most important component.
I have drilled a few tanks and I can tell you that I won’t do it again lol
I rather buy something that has a sump and drilled over flows.
Hang on back over flows...
I wouldn’t blame the shrimp. The shrimp is actually doing its job as part of the cleaner crew. The best way to see what’s going on in your tank is to keep looking at the other corals. If you have a lot of different Coral dying then something is wrong with your tank. I would test everything and...

So I spend $300 on T5 bulbs ouch !!!
I am currently running
1 actinic
1 blue +
2 coral +
On each fixture I run...

It’s very difficult to sell a whole system. Most people on these sites already have a tank setup so maybe they just need a ato or a skimmer.
if your goal is to sell...
Setting up multiple tanks makes reefing harder.
If you are able to setup one system with a display and a frag tank attached to that system. That is the easiest to maintain.
The best way to get a frag tank is buying a used system from someone.
The low boy need to be ordered by the LFS. Ocean gallery on rt 22 get them.
I also got one from will at aquatic obsession.
I am a site moderator at a different group and you have to Answer 4 questions about your tank in order to join that group.
the answer are looked over by the team before some one can get access and that’s A 24hr process
I am a strong believer in water changes. When I had a fresh water tank I would do large water changes. When I had a koi pond I would also do large water changes .
when I setup my system the 1sg thing I did was make sure I was able to do water changes easy. This is how I decided to reef. My way...
