I thinks it’s important to have a balance eco-system of crabs and snails to clean the tank. I use emeral crabs in every tank. I also keep fox face they eat a lot of algae. I would even say more than any tang.

What was the website selling these crabs so cheap?

To eat algae and left over food. I have a big system but crabs are a big part of my clean up crew.

To be honest on a tank that small I wouldn’t worry too much about ph. The tanks is so small that you will always have ph problems. That size tank I would keep it at what ever comes naturally and don’t try to hard. dosing kalk in a system that small is dangerous. adding a skimmer would help but...

I love kalk and I use it in my system. Dosing kalk in that small tank can be a problem. It’s better to use a product like all for reef.

I have removed a couple of rainbow nems I use a credit card. But I usually leave it alone and let it move on it’s own.

I just got my order today. I got it and the water was 74. I agree If you can wait it will be better in the spring. funny enough I ordered a couple of brittle star fish in my order.
