You don’t need to feed corals. Corals eat fish poop.
If you feed your fish they will feed the corals. Fish of hex is trying to grow corals for sale. So he wants the most growth possible. I would stay away from reef roids and other coral food. I would keep it simple until your tank gets stable...
I don’t think flow is your problem. If you are growing dragons breath you have to
Dos cheato grow. You need to replenish the nutrients that are used by the macro algae. I would do a follow up icp to see if anything changed. I would do the trident icp as it’s a better icp test.
You should do an icp test to verify your numbers.
You should also send a test for your ATO water to see
If your RODI is working good. Some test will allow you to send two samples.
Lps corals don’t like direct strong flow they like a strong wide random flow.
I like to use gyre style...
Update on this thread so the Klein butterfly fish cleaned out all aptasia from the Frag tank. I am going to to move him to another Frag tank to see if can clear that tank. I picked up another copper band so now I have two. I moved one to the main display and kept the other one in a Frag tank...
I guess we also have to take under consideration.
that some people have their tanks in areas of the home that’s heated and the heaters don’t have to turn off and on all the time.
I also like using multiple 300 w heater. To heat my system. I place them in the sump and in overflows of each tank.
So I had some free time today. So I did a 50 gallon water change.
I replaced the heater that went bad. I removed the cheato from the refugium
And got some dragons breath. I was also able to pick up a
Black widow anemone from PoeticInjustice.
like I said we are all different. I don’t even live in a house for more than 10yrs lol.
The technology does change. Heater are being built better 10yrs for a electronic
Device in saltwater conditions is too harsh no matter how much you clean it.
I guess we are all different. I wouldn’t trust anything running for 10yrs.
I think I would replace my tanks and most equipment when they get that old.
Even changing them every year. I notice a lot of improvements from one year to the next. The energy consumption of a 10yr old heater is going to...
yeah I am not buying expensive heaters. It’s not worth it I rather get a trusted cheap heater and just replace it. Every year just like i replace wipers on my car lol
I had two heater fail this weekend. I usually rotate my heaters.
I replace them every year and the old heaters are use for the water changing tubs.
Thank god they failed in a water change tub and not in my system.
I think it’s a good idea to replace your heater every year.
I buy the same...
The trident icp is very good. It doesn’t really matter
Before or after a water change. The reason is because you are not going to make
Any changes from one test. You want to see trends so in a month or so you should do another test and see how your numbers are trending.
