Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Second the mesh top. glass tops can get junk on them and if you don't keep up on cleaning them they can block some of your light. I had a glass top on my tank but because the junk was getting too much I opted to go topless; lucky I had no jumpers
looking good. I think for fish only setup three more Kessils will be fine but like @trio91 said if your going to do corals you will need more.
Also you might want to think about maybe getting a hanging canopy, maybe match the stand, to put the lights in and run the wires nicely down so they...
Guys sorry again I can't make it. I hope it's a great meeting. I created the picture thread so if anyone take pictures please upload them here (they will display on the main page down in the slide show as well)
January 2017 Meeting
I have a couple of units that look like this but don't believe its either brand; got them from Lowes. Now they are not running any of my fish stuff but my entertainment center is on one and like I started my Christmas lights were on some. But I will have to check to see what make I have.
You could always build you own like me ;) lol. As Paul said check to see which controller gives you what your looking for and more. You will always want to add on so find which system allows you to add on easily. Now if your more concern about schedule right now there cheap surage strips...
Agree with Paul here. You need to provide more information because it may not be a nitrate issue. There were times my tank was at 50 to 60 ppm nitrate and it didn't hurt my corals.
Information needed:
Age of system
How often do you do water changes
How much water do you change during water...
Nice to see things are starting to turn around for you. Just make sure you give time for your tank to adjust to its bioload or you might end up getting an outbreak again.
Speaking as a IT person -
When you have anything electronic lose power (computer, apex, TV, etc....) there ALWAYS a chance of something getting corrupted or even worst; fried.
Connecting your system to a UPS will not only save you in short power failure but also can help save the...
To tell you I would do the same thing you did and use the Apex as a fail safe. I then would use the heater's built in system to turn it off and on. Personally I feel killing the power and then reading power repeatedly (to use to control the heater) might cause more damaged to the heater as...
@trio91 to have the apex control the temp then you would need to set that range closer. for example if 77 is the temp your looking for then I would set it as follow - ON 76.9 and OFF 77.5 (or even 77.1 if you want a closer range). Now I am just assuming here with that.
Have you tried cycling the settings? (Turn on and then back off)
Sounds like an issue on Tapatalk and not us but if I get a chance today I will check out server
I had 1 A360WE and 2 A150WEs over my 54g corner tank. I love the Kessils and they handled my corals well. Do note the 360 has a 24in spread but as you get near the edges the light is less so you don't want to go edge to edge when dealing with these lights. For the best covage with the 360s...
