So you eluded to more space, when is the upgrade coming? Nice zoas, good collection going, time to start a zoa garden.

Thanks, just the prototype, we will see as my clay working skills improve how or if they get better.as for the weekend, gotta work but hopeful to get a work break. Yeah, a tooth brush and I'm going to try something with better bristles works best after the clay dries for a few hours. Mind...

For those asking, too flipping cold to be sanding the 120 stand in my detached unheated garage. Did water changes in the DT and some pruning.

My latest arts and craft idea... Ceramic frag mounts. I got magnets from K&J Magnetics that are plastic encased. Have been using them for over 6months with no problems. Seem well built. The 3/4 inch hold almost 10 lbs and run about 4$ a piece. Smaller are 2$ a piece and hold @ 3 lbs. well I see...

    Tank not cycling

Add some Dr Timms bacteria or some other flavor. Since all was dead it may take longer. Another option is to get a seed rock from a fellow reefer.

Opinions on what to do with my rock

If your new build is starting from scratch...just put it in and start the cycle. Even if you have dead matter, it will feet the microbes and enhance the cycle.

    Transfer switch installation.

Depends on fuel type (propane/nat gas). I have no natural gas line and rely on propane as my fuel. Kohler is a durable model but it is more of a fuel hog with regards to propane. I have a 20 kW Honeywell whole house/ auto transfer set up. I went with a 20 kW vs a 10 kW because at resting or 1/2...

    New Reptiles

Concern for letting reptile roam the house. Great way to deposit trace amounts of E Coli and Salmonella all over the floor substrate. May not be a big deal to the adult who walks predominantly on 2 legs. For guests, or those with or who happen to be young children, crawling and hands in mouth...

I did not take pics. Will take a pic of the optics I have in parts. Have to say it really was quite easy and was glad I cleaned out all the accumulated dust inside,

    Zippys tank

So I have programmable reefbreeder LEDs with 90degree optics on my 55. Great color mix but resulted in a red halo appearance in a few spots under red pots. I wanted to get a more diffuse spread and thought 120 degree optics might help. Went on ebay ordered new lenses, opened each light, swapped...
