I was using the dos for water change.
it will not siphon. The apex Solenoid is made for fresh water only. If you use it in salt water it will damage.
I have a mag18 that I use to use on a fresh water tank. I never had a problem so when I build my 1st reef I used that. I broke down my tank and moved. The mag 18 is still working but I will replace it with a dc pump.

I had a copperband for a long time. They will not eat pellets. I was able to get my copper band to eat by feeding clams on the 1/2 shell.
