Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yikes yeah something isn’t right, like Eric asked if you had a dosing unit for your two part. It’s an essential tool even if you don’t have a big uptake yet.
Probably best to do an icp test from there and post the results in here. When I transfer stuff and setup new tanks untill I see coraline starting to sprout and become thick I wouldn’t attempt to move sps over. There’s something limiting coraline then it will limit coral. I have two urchins in a...
I know your tanks been up for awhile now, but what kind of rock did you start out with and have you ever dosed anything to the tank to remove something else like algea?
I checked on your other thread and while you said you did see a few spots of coraline showing up I think there is something that’s inhibiting thier growth and likely affecting the sps growth. A icp test would help to identify if you have high tin/ or possibly aluminum. Also, before sending out...
It’s good to know where your acros were in the previous tank, howling the acros were there for as well. Base to tip tissue burning would happen when I would have calcium or magnesium inaccurate tests. When I get frags I stick it to a rock and it never leaves that rock.
It certainly isn’t a bad smell, but acroporas deffinitly give off an odor. I love doing waterchanges and smelling the acros, makes me believe they are strong and healthy.
Certainly my corals give off a smell during my waterchange, and I can easily tell the difference between my two tanks when completely filled. The new tank smells like a fresh saltwater bucket that you can easily smell the salt. Where as the old biocube doesn’t smell like crap but it smells like...
Did you happen to ask why they did during thier 30 day quarantine? I would like to get fish from them especially some of the riskier ones so they don’t die from random infections like you get from other stores that don’t qt.
In my biocube I had one of my cc space cakes favia got completely stung to death by mushrooms since that tank is now a mushroom heaven. I took the skeliton of what was left of my favorite favia to the new tank and it seems to really love not getting stung. It started to sprout tissue out of some...
Mike you got the healthiest sand bed I have ever seen tho. I threw some of your sand in the tank in a corner and the starfish went straight over to it!! Thanks again for it!!!
No I’m not adding t-5 but I have the newer versions of the xr30 which my little cube just had an xr15. So I also need to find out what percentage I need to run the new ones at to match my 70 percent xr15
I am setting up a waterbox130.4 so it’s a 4 foot long tank and pritty deep as well. And I’m not sure yet since the state of the market and the current price of some fish are wack.
