If you decide to frag your corals frequently you can keep them less then three inches. In they are the same species they may grow together without stinging and killing / they will just overcrowd the other. They will grow towards the flow and they always grow the way you don’t want them to grow...
The corals that rtnd, where were they in refused a to the lighting. I had my confetti on the frag rack off to the side of the radions and right under reefbrites. I though it was good enough par but it started to look decrepid with no PE, I put it right under the radions figuring if it died oh...
If I see another portion of the colony is in grow mode, I will cut the side that has gone dormant. It heals back over and will start regrowing out of that tip again in my opinion. I do have some corals tho that just encrust and don’t sprout. I have clipped that ones tip multiple times and it...
As expected a decent potion of the coral has succumb to the burning from whatever it fell on. However this gave me a reason to get in the tank again, give some acros a forever home , and also clip the Walt Disney tips that have grown out of the water.
An accident happened last night, the bulldozer snails got underneath one of my sps colonies and tossed it down from the frag rack right on my zoas, and probably my lobo. The circled part will probably turn pearl white in a day or two and the colony should grow back over the dead spots. It goes...
Yea and finding the right one is a pain everyone says they got it from “the source” or the guy they got it from got it from the source. But I would rather get it straight from the source or top shelf aquatics so I know it’s really legit.
I really want to get more tenuis corals, my rock structure doesn’t have many low light options for corals and these tenuis are right underneath the water level and in the right flow. Whatever I put up on that tenuis rock grows like crazy, I would love to try one of those really expensive ones...
Dang that’s rough, I prefer baby frags for that reason. I clip the bottom of the coral off the plug and that goes to the garbage. Then it goes straight in a bowl of tank water and Bayer. I don’t measure it just pour enough in till I can’t see through it. My dipping container is see through so I...
It would work, the colors wouldn’t match so you would have to play with the colors on the radion maybe. Or if you have them close enough the spectrums may mix together
Yessss!!! Even the dry rock bin would have a few random nice shapes. The two red sea tanks they had looked so nice and natural with actual macro growing in with the corals. The tank looked so pristine and the rock work was phenomenal.
I remember the good old days when fish stores would get weekly shipments of the good stuff. Ain’t nothing like the real stuff!! I just wish they werent big boulders, I wish tonga branch was cheap and came looking like that like it used to.
