Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Skimmer or biopellets would help. But I don't see any slime in that pic. Set up looks sweet! Congrats!
you're not overloaded on fish imho - but straining the frozen food is probably a good idea. I don't think you need a full cube - do you? You're probably giving them a buffet every day lol.
No clue on the coral. The red slime will only diminish once the amount of nutrients in the tank is less than your tanks ability to uptake it. As an interim I'd just siphon it off as much as possible. Removing the bacteria is a useful way of getting rid of the nutrient, but it's stop gap...
Yeah he's open. Drive by everyday on my way to/from work. :) It's not the best signage, it's next to a store "international deli". For a bigger landmark - if you see the Dunellen theater on the corner (across the street from the railroad station) - keep heading down on that side of the...
john - a long time ago (before hurricane sandy came) i was interested in a hawkins/grinch. if you still have either let me know. I will help you defer some costs for the swap. ;)
maybe someone in the club starting up could give you theirs. When I started in this hobby i went with aquacultured LR from the atlantic and the stuff was infested with crabs. Every day I was catching one.
LMAO! Good luck. When I had them they would come out at night hunting for snails and crabs. You could try to epoxy the hole he is coming out of - but more than likely he has an exit elsewhere.
yes...at that size he is talking about you would. Put some pvc or similar for them to simulate a tunnel. I wouldn't trust a larger one (e.g. the ones from the pacific).
smashers are typically much much smaller than the ones seen on the videos/youtube. You probably have one of the ones from the atlantic. I had a shipment of LR once that had 5 or 6 of them in there...because my tank wasn't set up - it was just about finding the LR, and squirting some RO water...
that's really "NORTH" of jersey....;)
the AWI RODI is a great great piece of equipment. Love mine.
That's pretty amazing you have a full blown reef and have a big predator like an eel (albeit in a connecting tank). Good luck!
