Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I would agree with Mark that your plan might be a bit aggressive. I am always one for starting fish first and coral afterwards. Why? Corals are not going to add any noticeable bio load, you can have them doing amazing and then add fish and boom you have nitrate or phosphate issues. I like...
Was it the Lakewood Petco near Costco? There is a guy there that runs the department and he knows his stuff. Sounds like you may have gotten the B team.
That sucks. I have found it is totally region for those things. FedEx down near me is amazing and UPS is garbage, however I have had multiple people tell me it is the opposite in their area. Hopefully you get it soon or at least the shipper had insurance.

First is external or internal; are you going to run it in your sump or have it outside your tank. Second is size and stocking, how big and what do you plan to keep. Skimmers are rated for gallon and then stocking so like for example a 50g light stock or 35 g heavy stock. Last question is how...
If you are going to add more corals you have to manage the nutrient export somehow. You can start testing your nitrates and phosphates now with the 10% water change and see how they measure and adjust from there. As the others have said, we run a UV but that is to help keep the fish healthy...
Yeah when I saw it this morning it said target was 5.6 which is what I responded too. Sounds like you saw the warning (rtn), tested and now you are going to fix it. Happens to all of us. Just keep testing.
If you really want to get crazy, you can setup a camera on the tank or have your buddy facetime you (if you are in the US). Mikem also nailed it, have a backup reefer that can be called if your buddy thinks something is wrong.
