Hey Phil sorry to hear about your fish's. Have you tried making a cover for the overflow? I'm thinking of doing this as well as closing the top of the tank with a net. I've had a few carpet surfers myself. Why do you think you need a bigger sump? OH, whats CCB.
Thanks Mike, Phyl
OK, trying to get back on track.
I've always had a bare bottom tank and just got tired of it. So now I'm going to try the sand thing. I had 3.5 gallons of bucket full of used sand in the garage for a couple of months. I thought cleaning it was going to be difficult, but...
Is the stand included in the price? I would look in the for sale forum on this site or other sites for used equipment. I wouldn't be buying anything new on a tight budget. You can also check craigslist.
Nice tank. I like the top down pic. I had the Grade B clown once but they never made it. I think they were wild caught. I do miss them. They don't need an anenome to survive. You can also get a frogspawn.
Is that reef safe? Man..... the things that they bring up from the ocean. I would think that something like that will need at least a 400 gallon tank to swim FREELY.
Junk, how big is your tank?
Welcome to the club. You are off to a good start. Waiting and being patient is key in this hobby. Just take the time to read even though your cousin is helping you out. The more you know the easier it gets........ Well maybe not ;). Good luck with the build. Looking forward to seeing the pics...
Things haven't been doing so good. I have no time to do anything. 80% of my sps has died. I stoped dosing the tub full of rocks. Had problem with the Kati Ani (I generated incorrectly). The TDS in the water is over 100. Phosphate is 2.69. I haven't checked nitrates yet. AAAAAHHHHHH I feel like...
I'm starting to get tiered of the BB thing. I'm looking for a different look now on the tank that I'm setting up now. So I will be adding at least 2-3 inches of sand in my tank. I will be putting strong pumps as well. I'll see how it goes.
I think there are just to many skimmers to review. If I'm looking for a skimmer, I will ask questions here and other forums about skimmers that will be a good fit for my setup. Once I get a couple of models, than its time for me to do my homework and search the net about the models that were...
Don't know where that is, but you are more than welcomed to come pick some up. You can also pm me your address and I can try to mail some out to you. I need to know the width of the blade you are putting it on.
I like it. I like the aquascaping too. How thick is the acrylic, whats under the hood, is this going to be soft or sps coral? Sorry for all the questions, but I think its nice.
