    Anyone have a Seahorse Tank?

18" will work fine. Yes the babies dying can cause water quality issues considering they can have a few hundred at a time and it is usually every 14-18 days once they do start breeding. There are a few ways around this, get all males as they will still court with each other just as a pair would...

    Anyone have a Seahorse Tank?

Hi Vincent. Glad to hear you are interested in trying seahorses, they simply are marvelous creatures. As you have found out, dwarfs are not a good beginner seahorse. Their special needs and live food requirements make them very time consuming. Erectus and reidi are both great beginner species...

Bubbles in my U-Tube HOB Overflow

Are you using a length of airline to remove the air from the U-tube? If so, do you leave it in place and what side of the U-tube is it on? Skimmer box or overflow box side? If it is in the skimmer box side you will need to switch it to the overflow side. I set mine up in the skimmer box at...

    schooling bannerfish

I have the same book and mine still ate my blastos and clams. He also like to taste every single zoanthid I put in the tank. They are a member of the butterfly fish family and we all know how reef safe they are.

    schooling bannerfish

I had one in my reef for about 2 years or so and then he developed a taste for corals. He now resides in Jazzsam's FOWLR tank. They are one of the least likely coral nippers but it is still a risk.

    feeding pipefish

They need a large supply of live foods such as mysids, copepods, amphipods and enriched live brine shrimp. What kind of pipes do you have? Some can be trained to frozen foods easier than others. Also it is best to train them to frozen foods in a bare bottomed QT tank as it is easier to keep an...

Can any Aquacontroller vets help on setup

What you need to do is plug the pump and a light or something into the same outlet on the DC8, this will draw enough so that the controller will shut it down completely. Just using an extension cord won't work.

    Dragon-Face PipeFish in Reef tank

Yes dragon faced pipefish are a reef species and will do well in a reef setting, providing you have no anemones, stinging corals or aggressive fish. Also you will want to make sure you have an ample supply of pods for it to feed on just in case it doesn't accept frozen foods. The six line...

    possible tank upgrade

How long is the tank? There may be enough room to make the turn as there is room at the end of the stairs. We would need the tank dimensions and have to take some measurements of the stairwell.

    My 28Gal JBJ HQI

Glad it is working for you. I would set the temp on the chiller controller to the desired temp you want the tank kept at, and set the Aquacontoller at about 1-1.5 degrees lower, this way if the chiller controller doesn't shut it off for some reason the AC will only let it drop another degree or...

    My 28Gal JBJ HQI

Yes, they should be on a rock or something. Croceas especially as they are a rock dwelling clam. It can be something as simple as a 1/2 clam shell, a small piece of flat rock or I have even seen some folks use a flat piece of ceramic tile. How's that chiller working out so far?
