I replaced that small funnel with this. It was a small plastic container of ink for a printer

    Feeding Stations

I love this stuff. I modified it a little by adding a better funnel on the top so I can just pour in the baby brine and I added a tiny hole at the bend at the bottom of the acrylic so the air comes out of the tube before it goes in the feeder container. I also sealed a couple of lead weights...

    Feeding Stations

Yes, an old fish net. I tested a few to see if the baby brine shrimp could get through and I found one. I have nets all over the place.

All fish in the sea know how to find their food and in a tank it is even easier for them. The problem is that in the sea Mother Nature supplies food all day, every day. We as humans have other lives and usually don't want to feed our fish continousely. At least I don't. Also some fish are...

    Feeding and growth of LPS

You can put them in a processer if you like. I like to freeze them and shave of paper thin slices. In a food processer it loses a lot of clam because most of it turns to mush but it is the samr clam if you prefer to do that.

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

I noticed that I have this wierd bubble algae growing only on my cement rocks. Randy gave me an Idea and suggested that it "may" be the iron that is attracting the algae to the cement. It could be another chemical in cement but I will try iron first. I made a slab of cement about 6 square inches...

    Facinating occurance

The bubbles are hard and slippery but they are filled with something.

    Facinating occurance

I have this bubble algae growing in a few places in my tank and in some places it is very heavy. I am not worried about it and kind of like it, but anyway, I noticed that it is just growing on my home made cement rock or the cement on bottles and none of it is growing on any real rock. It...

    Feeding and growth of LPS

I was just looking through some pictures from a couple of years ago and I noticed the progression of one of my Euphyllia type of corals. These are an easier type of coral to keep but I didn't realize it had grown so much because I see it every day. I think this first picture is about 3 years...

    Fried bristleworm

That clownfish is about 3" long so you can figure the size of the arrow crab. He is averaged sized

    Fried bristleworm

Yesterday I watched a 4" bristle worm get cozy with the glass heater. He wrapped around it like a boa constrictor and seemed comfortable. Then the heater came on and bristle worms are not really good jumpers so he fried. :o The arrow crab who loves fried foods walked over and unwrapped the worm...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

My 5' algae trough just about fell into the tank. It was so full of hair and other algae's that it filled up with water and became too heavy for the flimsy acrylic angles that I had holding one side of it to the side of the top rim. I remove the entire thing to make new (flimsy) angles. I...

    Interesting growth on rocks

I love it when something new grows in my tank, even if it is something that many people think is a plague. I just find it interesting. This is the stuff that stirs my interest in this lifelong hobby. This stuff started growing on my rocks a few months ago and at first I thought it was some...

I took some pictures. I can't get a full tank shot because the tank is so long and shallow. I love this algae although most people would not
