Yeah, it flashed through my mind for a instant as well....and then I envisioned my wife in my mind eviscerating that though into tiny pieces, with now a view of doing the same to my privates.....so no new tank for me as well! :p
Here's what they did wrong......The positive cable strap was broken, so it was simply placed over the post.....they never told me it was shot.
The cable straps were never cleaned up and wire brushed. When the second garage saw the battery, he first blamed me for the install, and I told...
Stores like KMart let you order out ot season items and have them shipped for free to the store. With a quick look, I didn't find a five foot, but found a three foot for ten bucks HERE.
I've been doing a large amount of travel this past month....back and forth to NC. Made what was supposed to be a two to three day trip to NC that turned into a week or so. First I was told the battery was bad in my truck....new battary. Two to three starts later, and a distance away from...
I am impressed!!!! The only way I could ever tell species is to look for the label.
Now I'm not sure about wood that old, but pretty much all wood today has a stamp that tells you the species.
As example, if fir, it would be labeled Doug Fir or D-Fir.

As I'm pouring water into my Brute I see a 200 watt heater that sits up against the side/bottom of this polyethylene can.....and no problem with melting there....And the polyethylene most likely has a lower melt temperature.
I don't see an issue. I have two 300w heaters mounted back to back on an acrylic baffle using PVC conduit clamps. Here's a shoot of that baffle with clamps....while I was building the sump.

It's hard to believe your pH is that low.....unless you have a severe CO2 problem.
What salt are you using and do you do anything to maintain alk, calc and magnesium levels?
I just got into the house from working tonight and my wife tells me we had a power failure for about one hour and ten minutes. No big deal.....we've had power failures and the tank just starts up again. But when I check the tank, the one ReefKeeper has a bar across it and all lights are on...
Geewiz Brandon, are we looking at the same picture? I see five silly children in that picture. And it's hard to tell how many are wearing diapers!
Looks great Tim.....can't wait to see more pictures. Keep them coming.
To answer your question about epoxy, I haven't met an epoxy that wasn't reef safe.
Now as far as using epoxy to "seal" the plexiglass (acrylic) partitions.....I'd be interest to see if this works. The reason is that acrylic swells and contracts in the presence of water. Not sure if a rigid...
