Well, after seeing the prices Picasso's juvenile crap...I mean art...can cost, I'm figuring the artistic value of these table lamps would bring in 50 to 100 thousands each..................as a skimmer, about $150. If you purchase both table lamps, I'll cut you a break. :o

Jim, I have the same problem with two MRC skimmers. I was thinking wiring them with a light kit and shade and making them into end table lamps. :p

Again, I use the Python hose to pump fresh saltwater into the tank. My guess is that it's 5/8 to 3/4 inch hose. EDIT TO ADD: If you are talking about the tee, I'd use 3/4 pipe all around. Here is the tee I did on an older tank. Note the valve is out of the picture to the right.

Wait one minute....a MAG 9.5 has NPT threading....national pipe thread. I've made this little things to convert NPT to "Hose" connection since I use Python hoses, which have "hose" threading. These converters are simply made with two pieces of CPVC fittings. Note, my local HD does not...

You could always build a box fairly inexpensively to hide the Brute somewhere in the house. The box would be a bit more presentable than the plain Brute can. Or if you still wish to keep it in the garage, make the box slightly larger and insulate that box.

I would put more trust in the mercury thermometer than the "temp probe." I'm assuming the "temp probe" is some probe attached to a controller. If that is the case, it can and should be calibrated.

I have both the MRC I and II......where are you locating the skimmer? The reason I ask is that MRC slimmers are beckett type skimmers and are quite noisy. If you're doing a basement sump area, I'd highly recommend one....if you're planning on putting it under the tank, there will be noise...
