Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Hoping to make it.
Anthony, if you're too busy I can help with the nametags.
What we should do for the future is put in a T-shirt order, handle and real name above pocket, NJR logo on back ;). If interest I'm happy to source.
Tablespoon of fresh chopped clam, one fresh shrimp, small bits (1" square) of fish (eg salmon, whitefish), a piece of dried seaweed, one capful of garlic oil, a squeezer or two of Seldane, maybe a block of another food (frozen mysis or krill).
All in food processor.
Blend.
Place into an old food...
Russell,
Where are you located? Maybe your mother in law can let a club member in on day 5 or so to check on the tank for you. If youre in my area i'd be happy to check it for you.
Those swing arms are notorious for inaccuracy, even when clean and maintained. Theres various stories about with these... http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-MA887-Refractometer-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B007Z4ITWU but I picked one up over a year ago on advice of a few people. One of the best...
Just switched to maybe. I'm going to be up in Bergen County but may be back down south in time to make it over. Saying that, for safety sake, count me as a no for the time being.
Well, I picked up a 2000 TJ last weekend that needs a bit of work but the engine and frame are solid.
Its sort of a mish-mash of other jeeps. A silver body, a black hood, a green left front fender.
Been driving it around. Its an experience.
Its loud, its bumpy, the seats are terrible, it handles...
My tang has taken a few shots at it and the pistol shrimp had tried to bully it off a few times. No notice of any dye shooting. It's made short work of the hair algae, less than a week in and the tank is clear. I dropped in a piece of seaweed today and it seems quite happy with it. It is a bit...
Got one about the size of a baseball, it eats algae like a vacuum, and is by far the coolest animal in my tank. It's a fuzzy/spiky variety (Aplysia sp). I'm supplementing with seaweed.
Just curious if anyone has kept one successfully long term and has any advice to offer.
Hawk,
Thanks much for the info, got the PM as well. I put a deposit on a 2000 Wrangler (looking for the older ones with the straight 6 engine) and I'm having it checked by a mechanic tomorrow (Sat) morning. If it doesn't work out I've got the day free to explore the auction option. Thanks again...
:encouragement: Been brewing for the better part of 25 years myself, though have had a bit of a break the past few years during Sandy recovery and growing family.
Used to vacuum sections of my 60 all the time. When I set up my 90 I purposely did a shallow 1-2" bed so I could clean it easily. My current rockwork doesn't allow easy access of a vacuum so I just stir (or turkey baste) the heck out of the bed occasionally and let the skimmer do the work...
Heya Canadia and welcome aboard!
Hate to say hi then start offering an opinion, but I will, and its meant in the best way.
If you have experience in reef tanks, great, you know what your getting into.
There's no need to read further.

Goth is in dude! Or you can sit on that stool and slam out some beatnik freestyle poetry.
Seriously, looks great. What are you running for DT, is that a single MP40?
