    Inherited 90

The following are recaptured posts from Google cache after our site was “lost” on or about June 1, 2011. I apologize if I did not fully restore them into original appearance, but I’m cursed with limited computer knowledge and didn’t want to spend multiple hours trying to make this picture...

Last year it was a spider bite..

Sid, you are a bug magnet! I like your fee, fii, foo, fum line…...that must be true…..a recluse and now chiggers. (NOTE TO SELF: Don’t visit Sid’s house ever again....infested with man-eating bugs.) Anyway, chiggers don’t actually bury themselves in your skin, so I’m not sure what the nail...

    GFO storage question

Sid, I am guessing, not knowing how old the guy is that you got this from, but I believe that the club was picking up hydrated iron oxide. Again, that is from my very limited existence with the club. Anyway, once hydrated GFO “dries” out, it’s most likely useless!

    We’re Back Sale - 100+ Gallon Tank - Sayreville

Re: We’re Back Sale - 100+ Gallon Tank - Sayreville I guess I need to put on my salesman hat and really try to sell this thing. Included with the tank are the durso style down-pipes and the return plumbing, with multiple unions for easy assembly and disassembly and two ball valves to...

Safe to run 2 Phosban Reactors??

Bob, from The Man, Randy Holmes Farley: “There are two ways that GFO can lower (or raise pH). Most folks see little to no effect. The primary way involves precipitation of CaCO3, and it take very little drop in carbonate to see a drop in pH, so the alkalinity part may go unnoticed. I saw that...

    PC Retro

Sweet, but you need to include details! Is this your own DIY or a kit or did you buy the 12-pack that way? What mix of LED’s do you have? What size tank are you using this on? Drivers? Dimmers? Come on Brian, details! Oh, and the first time I’ve seen a PC light fixture put to good use. :o

    Post count gone

I don’t so much mind the loss of post count and the numerous PM’s that were lost, but if these are going to drop drastically, how come my age didn’t decrease by a year of so? That is the one thing I’d like to see decrease. Why does that have to remain “right?” :P

    We’re Back Sale - 100+ Gallon Tank - Sayreville

It is an approximate 100 gallons and measures 48 inches wide, 18 ¼ inches deep, 29 ½ inches high and is ½ inch glass with a mirrored background. It has an offset overflow on the back wall. I’m including the stand and canopy, but please realize they are both in need of work. The stand, I only...

    Hello

Hey, my “Tale of the Tank” is gone!  Does that mean I have to tear down what I have done and start over? So who is going to Sunny’s on the 25th for the meeting?  I’m sure Sunny will be surprised when people start showing up on his porch on the 25th. Wow, Thermosts, you’re a newbie….welcome...

    Hari Kari Diversion Technique

I don’t know what is going on with my fish wanting to commit suicide. I lost a Coral Beauty about a week ago, found “extra crispy” on the floor behind the tank. Today I walk into the fish room and there is my Starry Blenny about five feet from the tank, catching some air. I immediately picked up...

How to Keep Your Aquarium Cool in the summer months

My tank is now nice and cool. Can you tell from the picture below? Greg, I did try your suggestion of Yuengling Light, and it just didn’t work for me. I noticed my feminine side coming out…wanting to do things like multitasking. Since I had a specific job at hand, I switched back to the Lager...

    MRC skimmer users

Have an MRC2 running off a MAG 24. I do have an external dedicated pump sitting on the shelf that will be installed once I get around to drilling the sump. I’m also considering, once I drill the sump, installing the valve upside-down. The reason is to see if “damming” the return flow would make...

FREE – Fan Bracket - Sayreville

I made this fan bracket to fit three 80mm (ca 3 1/8 inches) computer fans. These are the common fans found on desktop computers. After making this bracket, I decided to go with a five fan unit, so I don’t need this one anymore. This bracket is made of ½ acrylic and is 17 inches long. You can see...

Old Bridge Woman striving to be Heaviest....yes you read that right

Only one thousand pounds! What a lightweight. Carol Ann Yager was reported being 1600 pounds at her heaviest. When she died, at the ripe old age of 34, she had lost weight, and was down to 1200 pounds. Sick woman. Who is she really impressing?
