Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Unplug each and every submersible electrical thing you have in your tank/sump one at a time until you ID the thing that has the voltage leak…powerheads, return pumps, skimmer pumps, heaters, etc. Preferably you are using a VOM and not sticking you hand in the water to see if you still get that...
Any good masonry supply house would carry Portland-all grades. In Sayreville, we have Riverside Supply. But here’s the deal....it only comes in a 94 pound bags....still probably under $20.
I think the demo that was done at a meeting about 10-12 months ago (maybe merv???), he used hydraulic...
I agree with Nickjr….glass-holes.com….and you need that hyphen. I know I’ve sounded like a salesman for this company, but I’m impressed by the small size, relatively quiet, cost, customer support and the little surprise you receive in the box. We purchased the 1500gph for a 90 gallon tank...
To first answer your question in this last post, I believe a ¾ inch pipe off the overflow delivers 700 gph.
Now I agree with Magic that the skimmer section seems thin. Get rid of that one piece of acrylic (or glass) on the far left. Just have the filter sock in the corner with the skimmer in...
Here’s what I did…and by the way, I needed limited capital since I was just consulting, so I didn’t need loans/investors to buy facilities/equipment/inventory.
1. File for your business name with the county – I think $50
2. File to start a Limited Liability Company (LLC) – If I remember, it...

This isn’t a “how to” thread, but here’s the thread of us drilling two holes in half inch glass. The trick is to go slow, no pressure on the drill…use water to keep it cool. You could also go to www.glass-holes.com and check out their videos. The holes we drilled were for a glass holes overflow...
Do a search on this site for grounding probes. There are mixed feeling about them. I personally dont care for them.
It sounds like you definitely have a voltage leak on something and a probe will only mask that problem .and protect you, not your fish/corals. Try to isolate whatever might...
16 years isn't bad for a gas hot water heater. Not worth fixing...although I have no idea what you are talking about concerning a blower and top casing. A conventional 40 gallon gas hot water heater has a three inch (sometimes 4") vent pipe coming out the top and a cold water inlet and hot water...
I speak with an expertise in ignorance, so take this with a grain of salt. I would not bleach the rock. Bleach leaves too many byproducts and residual for me....especially in porous rock.
You might want to just wash it off, power wash it, boil it, if you wish, or take the PaulB approach and...
Silocone sticks better to glass than to plastic (acrylic, polywhatever). But saying that, the acrylic silcone work I;ve done have not been a problem. One word of caution, cut the acrylic a little undersized....it swells.
Cost wise, glass is cleaper. If you go with plastic, 1/8 inch is a bit...
