    dosing vodka?

I won't comment whether or not it works. In a nutshell, what it purportedly does is supply a food source for the bacteria to proliferate, thereby reducing you nitrogen waste products (ammonia/nitrite/nitrate).

75 Gallon Tank and Stand Build

Welcome. By the way, I too like the idea of doors on the end to easily move the sump in and out. One comment on your stand build...it appears the upper frame, which will hold the tank, is supported by the fasteners only (probably screws), through the upright 2x4's. You really don't want the...

    Scratches in glass

I have no idea if it would work, but how about those scratch/chip fillers for auto glass. They sell for about ten bucks. I know it's base on acrylates (similar to one-drop super glues). Have no idea how it would hold up on a tank...salt water.

    Need help with Glass

I haven't seen a sandpaper that could withstand glass. I'd be curious as to how you make out. I'd actually try grinding it using a wheel for glass...with great care not to over heat the spot being ground (keep the grinder moving). As far as drilling...just make sure the glass isn't tempered...

Are ice cap 660 ballasts dimable?

I speak with great ignorance, but I don't think any fluorescent bulb is dimable. EDIT TO ADD: Just searched dimable fluorescent bulbs and found that dimable compact flourescent bulbs are available. Proves my ignorance!

    BTA Behavior

Zooxanthelia produces glycogen as a waste product that the host may use as an energy source. They can live off this for some time. However, they do need protein and fats to grow which are not available from the zooxanthelia. So they must eat meaty foods to get these nutrients to let them grow...

Get a drill and the right size hole saw and drill it. Acrylic can be cut and drilled using regular woodworking tools.
