I had a very similar problem and I found it on a website and paid like $30 to ship it next day.

You can check my tank build to see what I have. I have one tank split up into 3 sections. One Return section, one fuge, and one skimmer section. The bigger the better for a fuge so you can have more rock and good algae in there.

Size matters....... Depends on what you are going to put in there. I was going to put my skimmer in my sump but then decided to have it external so I actually redid the size to accomidate. I actually wanted more space in the return section because that was were you see evap first. My answer...

I like the color after better than before. I found that happen to me with one monti. My guess is it was about to die before I put it low in my tank and the color was fading? Total guess though.
