I thought it was a hunger issue. I used to feed strong and latley I have been cutting back a lot. I am going to try and keep up the feeding and see what happens. I liked them but they might go in the fiance's tank very soon if this keeps up.

I have two hippo tangs in my tank and they have always been fine UNTILL NOW! Now I have watched them pick at a clams non stop, my open brain, a few sticks! They keep closing up because of them! Anyone ever see anything like this?

Once or twice but if it is that far there is usually a reason. It could be something blocking the flow into the skimmer OR something was blocking the output and finally moved?

I adjust my valve from time to time because the water level can change at any time. It usually stays constant but it will just jump down for no reason.

I don't know about those specific items but I mix mine in tank water and then use a syringe to squirt it right past them.

If you are going to do that I would go even more gradual than that and do 30 minutes each week. I have learned the hard way that the slower way it the better.

I had microbubbles because of a VERY small leak in the connections. Look for any salt creep around the connections.

I was in your exact same position and my best advice I can give to you is read as much as you can. Get a couple books or just read as much on here as you can. There is a lot to be learned to do it all correctly.

I have my tank on Laminate flooring and it seems to do fine BUT water is always going to happen no matter what you put down. I get water on my floor on a daily basis but I am good about cleaning it up.

I have a 5 gallon dehumidifier and I empty it every day.

Maybe that is the root problem is that we try to do too much with fresh water and we should just let it be?!?!?

Or just ask the question: What will happen to the other tank? Are you going to leave it here? If that is the case then get someone to buff it out for you and have 2! I would LOVE that!

Did you think about refusing delivery of it? I have heard of certain people doing that.

I second that you should use salt water to wash the rocks becuase of the possible die off.
