I have had all different types of lights. I love the controlability of the LEDs. I know some T5 are dimmable, but I would just use them as a supplement to good LEDs.

First reply to my cost inquiry is how much am I looking to spend? So I ask how much for a similar set up to what he has pictured, but with a better light... So for this beautiful set up $400. Keep in mind that is with a better light than the desk lamp shown.

So Dave if using 2-ap700, did you buy a rack to hold them between the 2 or 4 bulbs? Are the t5 controllable and dimmable. I read some t5 are dimmable.

ToTstart I have water draindinto 2 4 inchifilter socks I change a couple ime a week. You will get debates on them too. Then skimmer area. I started with a sand bed and live rock/rubble in my refugium area. But as David pointed out they do collect detritus. An extra small powerheadss could help...
