Calibrating with rodi is close but not accurate enough for your purpose. You need to calibrate with calibration fluid. Using rodi will usually be off by .02 or .03.

Did you calibrate it with calibration fluid?

Is reef spec, a refractometer or hydrometer?

Looks like your almost cycled, nitrite should be zero. Also how are you testing the salinity?

For my 120 I will doing two jebeo rw15. But it depends on your budget. They are the best bang for the buck you will find.

Currently you have around 15x turnover of the display tank. For a tank with coral I would shoot for a minimum of 30x or 3600gph. I currently have 55x turnover and it finally is enough to keep everyone healthy and happy.

Welcome to the club!! The 120 is a great size and will be upgrading to one shortly. Two things I noticed, one you will need much more flow, and the lights may not cover well if you want coral.

So the cloudy water is from a bacterial bloom from the vinegar. Vinegar is a carbon source. It will clear up, and will not hurt anything.

Did these rocks smell like vinegar?
